Sin City gets sinfully noir in 2009
20
It isn't much, but developer Red Mile did tell MCV that its game adaptation of Frank Miller's Sin City is expected in early 2009. Beyond that the only other thing we know about the game is that it runs on the Unreal Engine 3, which we know is absolutely thrilling to be aware of. With an early '09 release attached to it now, hopefully we'll start getting some information soon -- a couple screenshots would be nice.

Playing as Miho and going ninjashit crazy could actually be pretty awesome

Hmm... but how well will the look translate? Will they be doing a normal black-and-white with some colors look, or are we going to see something special like we did with killer7?

I hope they come up with some sort of surreal unique cell shading graphic novel look. That would be so dreamy!

From Renaissance, entirely done in motion capture. I think that it'd look like that.
And it's not a Sin City rip off: even though the Sin City movie appeared in 2005 whereas Renaissance came out in 2006, it took 6 years to make the latter.

Am I the only one who thought this was about Sim City until reading the post?

I agree with rivaldi22 when he suggests Miller pen some original stories for the game. It would make great strides toward supporting video games as an art form if it were done well. I think the game itself would be a lot better if it became an extension of the universe rather than a rehash of it.
Course all of this is moot if it ends up being a terrible game. Here's hoping.

I rented the movie for my family. After Bruce Willis and the amputation we turned the movie off. There was just something gross that wasn't present in movies like Terminator and RoboCop.

Well, I don't know how old your kids are, but I don't really think of Sin City as a family movie.

I'm gonna guess that's sarcasm because if not, my god you failed hard.

What misunderstanding? It's not like a teenager couldn't pick a movie for his family to watch.

Oh and yes I know the amputation story was separate from Bruce's story.

@hvnlysoldr I know Frank Miller and video games go hand in hand, but I didn't enjoy Sin City or 300.
In the case of Sin City, I became physically ill during the film (not because of the film, but because of dinner beforehand) and left early. I couldn't sympathize with any of the characters in it, and the visual style stopped being interesting after about 15 minutes. I still don't know how it ended and don't really care.
