SingStar's offerings on the PS3 have been less than stellar thus far, causing fans to express themselves in the most effective method possible: a petition.
Of course, we wouldn't report on an internet petition if it didn't bring to light some legitimate problems. Though Sony promised more than 350 music tracks for the service at launch, it has so far delivered less than 100 songs. This is especially bizarre given that the SingStore advertises "hundreds of songs available to download," which is obviously not true.
On top of this, copious server outages, and a lack of updates to the SingStore news sections are leaving fans in the lurch. If the petition doesn't do anything (which is absolutely unheard of on the internet), then here's hoping Sony at least wises up and begins catching up on the missing content.

There goes the shep man defending the PS3 (and Sony) like his life depended on it. He may claim he has no bias since he supposedly owned all 3 systems at one point but I find that doubtful. We all have our slants and historically based on his posting here, all he's done is defend Sony 90% of the time.
The assholeness of the Live experience mainly comes from the fact that almost everybody has easy access to a mic/headset. It comes with every Prem/Elite. Put mics into every PS3 sold and watch that asshole ratio skyrocket. Pairing a bluetooth headset isn't quite as simple as plugging in a 360 mic into the controller.
You'll also find that (for now), the PS3 skews to the older and hopefully way more mature audience. When kids start begging for PS3s for Xmas (good luck with that), you'll find that asshole ratio go up.
I'd love to see Nintendo put mic capable games into their offerings. It will be enough to turn the Nintendo logo blue.

There's no "supposedly" about what systems I own or claim to have owned. People have seen the pictures.
But frankly, I don't know why I have to be put into a position of needing to defend Sony. In fact, I don't even know why this is being drawn in as the typical "haha, get what you pay for on PSN" comments.
After all, let's look at the facts of this situation.
A. It's an utterly new service, period. No game I know of, aside from Warhawk, has allowed you to purchase DLC content from within the game. This is a store system built inside the game.
B. It's another case of a company promising the sky and delivering a can of compressed air. Every company does this and it's just a matter of Sony needing to get off their ass and get this service up and running with regular updates.
C. Name one digital distribution service that didn't have issues starting up. Because iTunes had problems, Video Marketplace definately had problems, Live marketplace had issues, and hell, even the VC channel had rough issues as the technology was started in Nintendo's Chinese market effort, iQue.

I never once saw a service go up and running without a single issue.

I loved your reply to Fernando sheppy, but what's with going off on a tangent? You brilliantly torn him a new one for diverting the subject of the conversation from Singstar to the Wii and then you turn around and rag out Live and praise the PS3. How does that make any sense? I'm totally lost.

Does anyone know if the Xbox 360 Rock Band microphone will work with the PS3 for games like this (or even for PS2 karaoke games played on the PS3)?
