This is very cool! I wish I could pat XBL on it's technological back for this.

I'm an aspiring writer/director and Sundance channel is one of my favorites, also IFC. This will make for a nice couple of downloads and I think it's great these are purchases and not rentals. Maybe something I see will get me past my writer's block I've been suffering.

Sex with a fever is actually some of the best sex there is, due to being delirious at the same time.

Knowing that they aren't gonna be putting something too racy on XBL, I think it's safe to say this film is probably more about sick than sex.

Being a film student this is great news for me. A lot of stuff from Sundance is hard to get hold of.

As far as this news article is concerned...I've got to give it to XBL, this is very cool. Two sore thumbs up.

This is great for the indie film industry. The problem with short films is that they get no exposure. Even if they suck, at least now there's an outlet for these indie filmmakers. Great move on Sundance's part.

$1.99 each is a gigantic rip-off. These shorts are being released tomorrow (Jan. 17, 2008) on four DVDs, grouped by genre (Drama, Animation, Comedy, and "On The Edge", whatever that means).

If you were to rent all of these on XBL VM, you'd be paying over $80. That's probably enough to BUY all of the DVDs. I know it's enough to pay for my Netflix subscription for four months.

$1.99 is not rental. It's purchase price for these. So either pay $20 a DVD and get a few shorts you may not like, or purchase the select few that you DO want.

Seems like a better deal to me.

I agree. Costs for content on XBL is too steep.

On the other hand, I like free shit, so my opinion doesn't count.
