With Super Smash Bros. Brawl releasing upon the Japanese public at the end of the month, it's no surprise that Nintendo has prepared a plethora of TV spots to be run. And, thanks to the intertron, one doesn't need to live in Japan to see them. So, sit back, relax and catch an eye full of Brawl goodness in one of the spots above, then head past the break for some more.
Japan to run plenty of ads for Smash Bros. Brawl

The Smash Bros games have always seemed to be the most ADD games out there. But I really have this feeling we are not seeing everything. I'm going to hold that there is going to be 50 characters playable. Also there will be Megaman as one of those too. I'm not saying I'm right or anything but Brawl has to top Melee and by having more characters is just one of the criteria it has to meet to succeed over Melee.

Thanks. I've never played an MG games so I'm still not entirely sure what you're talking about (especially in that response to JayPer), but at least now I have some idea.

Ah, sorry. Well, just giving it as a small info:
(as simple as I can put it)
SPOILER ALERT
Metal Gears are giant "walking tanks" able to handle itself against almost any adversary... they were created by the government (actually, a secret shadowy puppet government named the Patriots)... they were always the bosses in the Metal Gear video games (except for MGS3). Considered a heavy threat due to their ability to launch a nuclear strike from any position in the world and on any terrain.
In MGS1 (on the PSX), a large-tank-like version of the Metal Gear, was named Metal Gear Rex... had an astounding battle versus Grey Fox/Cyborg Ninja...
If you're not willing to play the game, just watch this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUavs9U5aWQ
(that was from the GC version: Twin Snakes)
In MGS2, the Metal Gear was named Ray... a lot more flexible than its predecessor... not only than, it's amphibian, has the ability to go into water... unlike Rex, Ray was mass-produced... an army of these things...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FdlGtLIA2E
be sure to only watch a little if you're going to actually play the games.
There's a lot more to the stories than I said, but to actually explain it would take A LOOOT LONGER. X_X Hopefully that helped.

Megaman will not be included as a playable character, if anything, Earthman Jim should be brought in.

Some form of Metal Gear busting through the wall. I was thinking either Ray or Rex. Not sure though. Anyone know for sure?

That one's Ray...
Rex is too big to be that skinny.
Not only that, Ray was mass-produced, and that stage has more than one Metal Gears that bust through the walls... so it HAS to be RAY.

EarthWORM Jim...
heheh, Earthman...
I'm not sure, we've already got Wario, he's weird enough. Suddenly putting someone as obscure as Earthworm Jim would be too much of an awkward shock for people.
Megaman, however, is simple... nothing too obscure about his looks...
If Earthworm Jim were to come, he'd have to wait for another year to join...

Damn, who ever said that Wii is a gamecube 1.5 and doesn't have better graphics is way toooooo wrong!!!!
Just check on the details of every character, they are way to polished and have many more polygons, that natural fabric movement is seen on the game can only mean that there are more polygons and more polygons means more graphic power. Seen this, i'm pretty sure Wii could handle Assasin Creed or Bionic Command.... hell, even GoW!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not so sure about Assassin's Creed.
Assassin's Creed isn't so much about graphics detail as it is with the ability to run so many graphics ALL AT ONCE...
...ever played the game? Ever seen how many people can be seen from the highest point? All of them working without having to be restarted.
That's where Assassin's Creed's beauty is...
...other than the killing of course... and the scenery...
...and I doubt GoW... it could handle the simple graphics of it, but can't bring out it's HD capabilities. Other than that, it could probably work it.... JUST A LITTLE.
The Wii does have great capabilities... you can push it to its limit and rival other systems... - but unlike the other systems, the Wii has an extremely lower limit to their graphics.
...trust me, if the PS3 or Xbox360 pushed its graphical limits beyond the point they're at now.... there'll be no comparison.
So... I don't think the Wii can completely rival them graphics-wise.

Did I see a Metroid mixing it up in that commercial? A metroid assist trophy perhaps?
Posted: Jan 16th 2008 5:04PM Algus said
Ay, a number of Assist Trophies appeared in those commercials, including Metroid (although from the size of it, it may be 'Baby Metroid' from Super Metroid), and Barbara Bat from Daigasso! Band Brothers and Master of Illusion (she was the one wailing on a guitar and sending out red shockwaves in the one commercial.)

Whoa! Barbara Bat! I wasn't expecting that, but that's awesome!
