Nintendo dates Wii & DS games for first half of '08
Nintendo dumped a load of dates on us today – 148 to be exact. These dates (some specific, some general) correspond to 65 Wii and 83 DS titles that are scheduled to be released in the first half of 2008. While its obvious that many third-party publishers will continue to shovel their filth onto the systems this year, we've been able to excavate a decent collection of potential gems from an otherwise smoldering pile of manure:

I hate that Wii Fit is coming out this Christmas (you know it is), but YAY OKAMI!
Now give us God Hand Wii Edition, Capcom, and you will be forgiven for passing the Wii up with Bionic commando in spades!
Chris @ Jan 16th 2008 4:56PM
Is Prey the Stars a cross between Prey and Dancing with the Stars... because I will gladly pay for that.
Admiral_Mike @ Jan 16th 2008 4:59PM
So many games so little money. Oh well i'm in the UK so none of these will be out this year anyway.
Shagittarius @ Jan 16th 2008 5:00PM
Is this a game list or Nickleodeons spring line up?
Nigeria @ Jan 16th 2008 5:10PM
I was going to critise you but you do have a point.
There looks to be a crap ratio of 5 to 1 on both systems.
Mr Khan @ Jan 16th 2008 5:15PM
If Nickelodeon had a Ninja Gaiden TV show
I'd watch it
T3H WICKERMAN (FDF) @ Jan 16th 2008 5:26PM
i will CRITICIZE you then. Also even fiery god dogs can enjoy weight loss with wii fit.
cold school @ Jan 16th 2008 5:45PM
Yikes!! last time I let grand-ma pick my console.
Tranando @ Jan 16th 2008 5:04PM
Donkey Sanctuary Manager 2008, sounds fantastic.
Shagittarius @ Jan 16th 2008 5:09PM
I knew it!
Superstar90 @ Jan 16th 2008 10:55PM
OMG, look at your face!
deaftly @ Jan 16th 2008 5:09PM
This is the weakest list of games i have ever seen. Besides Smash Bros, Mario Kart and Okami, there are no other games whatsoever that im interested in. It really is Gamecube all over again.
Mr Khan @ Jan 16th 2008 5:13PM
I like what i see. The bulk of it is trash, of course, but that goes for most games and consoles period
Endless Ocean, No More Heroes, Samba Di Amigo (isn't on the list, but it excludes SEGA games period), Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword, FFCC: The Ring of Fates, DQS: Masked Queen/Tower of Mirrors, Okami, Opoona, Brawl, Deca Sports, and Wii Fit all look purchase-worthy to me
It all comes down to opinion, i suppose
...Jan... @ Jan 16th 2008 5:19PM
- Aw man, Wii Fit comes out Q2. Wasn't it meant to come out January for those excercise this year people?
- Brothers in Arms and Star Wars caught my attention...and a few others I guess. I still need some more must haves.
opifex @ Jan 16th 2008 5:25PM
m&ms?

March: Obscure: The Aftermath from Ignition Entertainment
BWAAAAA HAHAHAHAHAAHA!
T3H WICKERMAN (FDF) @ Jan 16th 2008 5:33PM
If your post op its party time bitch!!!
Vidikron (FU) @ Jan 16th 2008 5:57PM
Man... kind of a sad list. I see 1 definite, 1 likely, and 1 maybe on the Wii list.
ssuk @ Jan 16th 2008 5:57PM
Spring: The World Ends with You from Square Enix
Well, at least Nintendo are trying to give you an aprox date for when this game will ship, Square doesn't seem that interested.
murray b @ Jan 16th 2008 6:18PM
looking forward to wii fit, american idol, no more heroes, brawl, mario kart, destroy all humans, okami, pro evolution soccer. these are all first half? sweet!
ThornedVenom @ Jan 16th 2008 6:31PM
My wallet is feeling very small at the moment.
Donald @ Jan 16th 2008 6:36PM
Professor Layton and Apollo Justice in the same week? And after my payday?
GREAT SUCCESS!
mr mobius @ Jan 16th 2008 6:59PM
Really is a good job that I still am not 30% through super mario galaxy, need to finish off ganon in tp still (at hyrule castle atm), need to finish advance wars ds, finish ffIII, finish phantom hourglass, buy metroid prime 3, buy zack and wiki, buy super paper mario. Load of gamecube games and N64 games as well to complete. Its a good job. Awesome foresight because there isn't much to do this half on 08.
My university had foresight because last semester i had games to play and little hours, and this semester it is 9-5 and not many games i want to play.
Meloche @ Jan 16th 2008 7:00PM
I'm interested in 13 Wii games and 6 DS games. I will end up buying 3 or 4 of these. I'm really sad for those who have all the consoles.
Dale @ Jan 16th 2008 7:12PM
Mario Kart Wii > all. Hopefully it will be the game that makes me use my $250 paperwiight.
Dio @ Jan 16th 2008 9:56PM
I suppose this comment should contain a list of games that I'm interested in, but I'm too lazy to sift through the crap. The only games that caught my eye right away are Advance Wars and GS4.
i_hate_mtv @ Jan 17th 2008 1:06AM
That list is god awful.
Sorry Nintendo, I'm buying a 360.
Thunderpants @ Jan 17th 2008 2:43PM
God that DS list is just awful. You would think there would be better offerings for a system that exists solely to print money. I fear that the Wii is taking away a lot of Nintendo's focus from the DS. As if the DS was merely there to test the market for a Wii-concept.
The Wii list is actually pretty decent if extremely lacking in the 'killer' game department. I could see myself easily buying at least 12 games from that list: Katana, Castle of Shikigami III, NMH, Baroque, DQ swords, SSBB, Okami, Opoona, Mario Kart, Deca (curling ftw), Force Unleashed, and Wii Fit.
I think it's a nice blend of hardcore, intensive (SSBB, CSIII, NMH) and fun, shallow, quirky (Katana, DQS, Force Unleashed). I just wish there were more...'involved' games available. But meh, the Wii was always meant to be a secondary console.
