Retailers listing Silent Hill Origins for PS2
We told you last month that we thought you'd soon hear more about a PS2 version of the PSP's Silent Hill Origins. Though we still haven't gotten official word from Konami, the rumor has now been corroborated by a few retailers, making a port seem all the more likely.GameFly and Amazon both have listings for the game, although they've currently got it set at opposite ends of March. Heck, the two sites even have box art (seen at right). Now, Konami, would you please just announce the thing so we can start stocking up on Depends? ... Wait. No. We mean Game Fuel. Yeah. Game Fuel. You know, so we can play all night because we're not scared at all. Yeah, that's the ticket.

FOXHOUND @ Jan 16th 2008 12:27PM
hn. Well, here's hoping it gets the value treatment like TWISTED METAL: HEAD ON's port to PS2.

Good, I don't have a PSP and I've been dying to play this game.
Mr.ESC @ Jan 16th 2008 12:36PM
Why do I even bother buying PSP games anymore.
In a few months they will be either on the PS2 or the Xlive with more stuff. If either Crush or Killzone Liberation are ported I'm smashing my PSP with a hammer.
Slaziman (B-B-BRUSHED WITH FAAAAME) @ Jan 16th 2008 12:43PM
Uh... because it's portable?
Mr.ESC @ Jan 16th 2008 12:55PM
Oh yeah, but I'm still pissed about the whole porting stuff. The PSP ports are cheaper (sometimes) and include more stuff.
Co @ Jan 16th 2008 1:06PM
As they should, cuz PSP sucks.
Cesaria @ Jan 16th 2008 1:13PM
I'm with Mr. ESC here. Exclusives give the portable a reason to exist. If everything is just going to be ported to the PS2, then why bother? Maybe this is why the psp is getting spanked by the DS.

The spate of PSP to PS2 ports bodes well for fulfilling my desire to play GoW:Chains without having to pick up another PSP.

Silent Hill 2 was good. Silent Hill 3 was something of a retread, yet still entertaining as a SH fan. Silent Hill 4: The Room, made me swear I was done with the series forever. While I felt it was one of the more creative in the series, it seemed repetitive and lasted forever and I couldn't wait to be done with it. The endings for these games are always, always absolutely horrible.
With that all being said, I'll likely be eager to pick it up and play another Silent Hill game, ugh gad. Sigh.

Excellent...
*rubs hands together in a maniacal fashion*
Wish they'd do the same for SH5 :)

ok riddle me this......
why do morons continue buying the lackluster handheld that is the DS. yes two screens. yes you can touch stuff. but where are the must have games? only one that comes to mind that you bandwagoners went crazy for was pokemon. common now. pokemon...... what 10+ years later. mario 30+ years later. every nintendo character is older than my grandma. gameplay never changes. psp pwns. get over it. its the hackers guide to the universe
naxe @ Jan 16th 2008 1:55PM
just kidding..... i have a ds. two psp's never play my ds. have one modded psp and one slim. ps3 and 360 waiting for a good reason to buy the wii tho. cant think of any. more exclusives please. i dont like buying multiple copies of one game.
James @ Jan 16th 2008 2:59PM
I have a DS and PSP, I play my PSP more because I just got one but the DS is clearly the better system. You can only think of Pokemon? Then you must have problems. Metacritic has 3 DS games above 90%, PSP has none. Infact the higher rated games appear to be early titles. Back before the "console like" graphics gimmick wore off.
naxe @ Jan 16th 2008 3:30PM
yes true if your five. nintendo targets that 5 year old little kid inside us all. with hannah montanna. bratz. nintendogs. touch detective. im willing to bet that the games that are above 90% have to do with a fat plumber saving a toad-stool for the 100,000th time. or spending hours playing with a virtual dog as your real dog cries for your attention. better yet catch some monsters that have been caught over and over and over again. no originality. but yet you say its the better system. if by better you mean cheaper; and made for everyone.
James @ Jan 16th 2008 3:49PM
What? I'm a 22 year old games designer and college lecturer. Sorry to throw off your "theory".
Markez @ Jan 16th 2008 3:56PM
"yes true if your 5" I also liked the bit using periods as commas. But you are spot on, clearly the only games people are playing on the DS are plumber games, Nintendogs, and Pokemon. You dolt.
Wasn't there an article about Silent Hill somewhere around here?
