The next two weeks of downloadable content for Rock Band have been revealed, and by none other than Xbox.com no less. The week of January 22 will see the release of the Oasis Pack, which will include three songs by Oasis (go figure). The following week of January 29 will bring the Progressive Pack, which will include tracks by Smashing Pumpkins, Rush, and Coheed and Cambria. Both song packs are 440 MS Points each. Each song can also be downloaded individually for 160 Points. See the breakdown below:
Not much of an Oasis fan, really, but the selections of theirs are solid and certainly a departure from the usual pace and sound of Rock Band.
I'm overjoyed about the Progressive Pack! Great bands and great tracks, all. The cover notation next to "Ten Speed" does frighten me a bit, though. Good luck with that one, WaveGroup.
The guy they have covering Rush is terrible. I've never loved the vocals to begin with, but man... I just can't bring myself to buy anything but originals, which we're apparently never going to see.
I think they'll end up being a full album download.. if not they'll end up with a lot of content on there. If their first two albums were mixed properly, all the later ones had to be as well.
Im really looking forward to Smashing Pumpkins. I am still really looking for Co&Ca the most though, however I got extremely dissapointed when I saw it was a cover. They have the master of Welcome Home, why a cover of this song? Claudio has a very unique voice, I am very curious as to how it comes out, because a bad cover means I wont be purchasing it despite my well known love for them
I still want to know what Harmonix has against Geddy Lee, and why they have some guy cover the song. It doesn't sound nearly as good as the original, and I'm glad when I'm singing because I can cut out the vocal track, unfortunately I can't do that when I'm playing guitar.
It isn't necessarily Harmonix - it could be what Rush has against Harmonix/Rock Band/whatever. (Maybe Geddy's mad at EA.)
At least we get some Rush tracks. I'm looking forward to Working Man.
I like the variety. It's a decent range of rock, and if you don't like the songs one week, they'll change the next. (Plus it saves you money. It may be a blessing that they don't have full album DLC yet.)
I hope their faux Claudio Sanchez isn't as bad as their faux Geddy Lee. I wish they were original tracks... I'll probably still buy the progressive pack, though.
If they put out the entirety of either of their main CD's as songs, I'd go buy this game immediately, and buy enough points to put it on all my friends 360's and my own.
Both of these packs are must buys! Oasis was one of the greatest band of the 90s and SP, Rush, and Coheed and Cambria are no slouch. Thank you Rock Band for delivering awesome DLC each and every week!
Great job with new songs each week. But cover songs gotta stop. Tom Sawyer was acceptable, but I was disappointed with Limelight. Sounds like a totally different person singing.
who the hell could possibly cover the most impossible band in america in Co&Ca. Claudio is so much more than just high pitched hes an impossible singer to capture correctly and i want to know what band is gonna try and fail miserably. any body have ne idea who the cover band is?
