Although there are some obvious differences in Condemned 2from its predecessor (Greg Grunberg we hardly knew ye!) it seems from this new trailer that those who liked the first title are going to be pleasantly satisfied with what the sequel has to offer. Grisly crime scenes? Check. Bizarre weapons including but not limited to prosthetic limbs? Check. Zombos, that dark marriage of zombie and hobo? Sadly for those especially attached to their brains or Wild Turkey, check.
If we have one reservation it's Grunberg's stand-in and the pseudo tough guy dialog he's given to say (we're looking at you "the rest of these jerks are too scared of getting killed". Blech.) We'll withhold judgment for now, but if anyone starts talk of brick parking in zombo toilets, we'll be very put out.
Listen, I liked all Gregs voice work from the first one as much as the next guy... but what do you want a crazy man who beats zombie homeless people to death with his fist to sound like...?
Yeah the new voice actor really makes me think "generic smoldering action hero" compared to the excellent work the other guy did in the first game. I'm not holding much hope for this one.
Looks good to me. Beyond people above bitching about it being another first person game, or having bad voices - the fact remains that Condemned was entertaining.
Also, if you don't like first person games, or shooters for that matter, then don't bother discussing them. Go play your Madden or whatever. It adds nothing to a conversation to hear that you don't like a style of game.
7th guest wasn't scary at all, let alone frightening. I played the hell out of that game in the early 90's, If I remember correctly I found it was pretty slowly paced with all the puzzles and all. The basement mazes were "spooky" at best.
Visually confusing good and bad elements is a nice touch, especially for the storyline, but I really feel like I needed to point out the nasty case of Uncanny Valley in the cinematic.
In know I am a wimp, but the demo for the first game creeped me out enough that I never layed the full game and will most likely pass on this one too. I don't play games to get tense and stressed out. but then again, I hate horror movies too.
If you like creepiness, though, these guys nailed it int eh first game.
I liked that Greg was the voice in the first one, I'm sad he isn't the voice in this one anymore. He musta gotten a tad more expensive after Heroes took off. Too bad. :(

The first condemned was one of the most frightening experiences I have had in a game, since 7th guest. It's not your normal FPS.

I hope the actual investigating is less obvious in this game than the first one. I want to feel smart when I solve crimes, not feel like a job.
