If there is no online play it will be a failure. That is pathetic that a game like Worms would not have online multiplayer support. I had reasonable hopes for this game to give me a decent play through along with online. Yuck if it doesn't have online, just plain yuck.

I agree with you other Tom. Without online, this game instantly implodes. I would much rather buy a portable, cheaper version of the game (Open warfare 2) than that.

Team17 needs to step up. The SCMP of the ds version is horrible. I looked on their forums and the "developer" basically said that networking is hard and they tested it really good before releasing. They need to hire a real netcode developer. total bs.

Why do they keep leaving online multiplayer out of Worms games? It makes no freaking sense.

This makes me so sad, I think you just ruined my day, maybe even my week. I'll be in the corner crying if you need me...

while i'm not huge on online play... i can see this one struggling with the masses by not having it...

its other obsticle now is the fact that there are TONS of multiplayer "party" games now....

Back in the day, it was Worms 2 and Golden Eye.

"And what reason would any level-headed gamer have to purchase A Space Oddity over the online-enabled, $20-dollars-cheaper Worms: Open Warfare 2 on the DS?

None. Which is why I bought the DS version and don't plan on purchasing the Wii version. SOLELY because of this announcment.

Man I loved Worms 2. I hope they re-release on the VC.

-Because multiplayer isn't as big of a concern as everyone makes it out to be; I say if you can't make a good single-player game, then I'm not interested in the multiplayer.

-Because I do not own a DS.

It's not just a Worms issue--it's still a Wii dev issue. Wii users just don't get no respect. If you don't believe me, head over to joystiq and read about how this is actually a feature--so online doesn't interfere with the single room party experience...?!

Maybe after we buy another 10million consoles Wii devs will start completing games before they ship them.

This game is what Online Play is all about. What the Hell?

Oh well I guess I keep playing Worms World Party on the PC.
It's fun, and ONLINE and NETWORK play. I see ABSOLUTELY no reason to get the one on the Wii. Even if it had better features.
Team 17 make horrible AI. Either one move he shoot himself, and the next he preforms a direct head hit on your guy, that is in a hole, at the other side of the map with a simple bazooka.

This game require humans to play against each other. What better to play it with brothers. But without online play I simply can't, as my brother are out of the country.
