Alone in the Dark delayed until May, PS3 even later
Will wonders never cease? In one week, Alone in the Dark went from being released in March to being released in September to "not delayed until September, but we're not saying when it's actually coming out." Now, according to CVG, the survival horror title will drop on the Xbox 360, Wii, PC and PS2 in May of 2008. As you may have noticed, the PS3 is absent from that list, and with good reason: That version is now due "sometime in 2008." That's especially interesting to those who have been following the AITD release drama, as Atari previously said that the PS3 version would arrive day-and-date with its brethren on other consoles.
We have to admit that we're still looking forward to getting our hands on the game, if only to see if all the delays were time well spent. If we could be so bold though, could we suggest that the game ship with a special bonus copy of Chinese Democracy?

If you're a writer by trade, shouldn't you know not to end sentences with prepositions?
NATO_Duke @ Jan 17th 2008 10:43AM
Are you that bothered they used "out"?
Justin McElroy @ Jan 17th 2008 10:53AM
Oh, no, no, no. I'm a blogger. I can see where you'd get confused. See, as a blogger, I had to trade my prepositional skills for the ability to ban people. It's in much the same way you've traded the ability to get off of the couch without the elaborate, 800-pound bearing pulley system your uncle had to install last spring for thousands upon thousands of delicious Hot Pockets.
About. Above. Across. After.
CaptNink @ Jan 17th 2008 11:03AM
That's a myth. There is nothing wrong with ending a sentence with a preposition.
Welcome to the real world of writing.
xFenixKnightx @ Jan 17th 2008 11:02AM
Its Banhammer Time!! lolz!
el serpiente @ Jan 17th 2008 11:03AM
And a testy little blogger you are, aren't you!
Really? A fat joke when someone corrects your grammar? I know this is a video game blog, but it doesn't mean you should act like a child.
Justin McElroy @ Jan 17th 2008 11:15AM
I'm not making fun, el serpiente. I'm worried about his health.
NATO_Duke @ Jan 17th 2008 11:57AM
Justin- I think I am gonna sue. Your earlier response made coffee shoot out of my nose.
Or should I say that I shot coffee from my nose when I read your reply, or shortly after.
T3H WICKERMAN (FDF) @ Jan 17th 2008 12:00PM
Face/Off...really McElroy? Did I want to remember this "movie" this morning? Ugh Travolta's awful giggles and acting will haunt me for the rest of the day.
Brian Fantana @ Jan 17th 2008 10:36AM
Cool with me. Condemned 2 will suffice for scaring the shit out of me for a while.
NATO_Duke @ Jan 17th 2008 10:37AM
Working Chinese Democracy into this - nice.
I am looking forward to it and really hope that it doesn't go past May. Atari needs to do something right.
Kspraydad @ Jan 17th 2008 10:40AM
Atari needs to just give up.
kbomb1upc @ Jan 17th 2008 11:08AM
Is anybody really waiting for this game? I mean for real. I saw the trailer back in 2006, but since then all they've been announcing are delays. I lost my interest in this game a long time ago.
Crono (NDF - Knight of the Old School) @ Jan 17th 2008 11:15AM
I've gotten so damn tired of that picture.
Crono (NDF - Knight of the Old School) @ Jan 17th 2008 11:16AM
Uh.. Shouldn't have been a reply. Sorry. Your picture is awesome.
kbomb1upc @ Jan 17th 2008 11:28AM
Game....Blouses
Cyro @ Jan 17th 2008 11:20AM
"PS3 Even Later", Delay Station 3 Strikes again!
JJ @ Jan 17th 2008 11:29AM
it would be a lot more painful if anyone even gave a hoot about the game cyro... but alas SSB being delayed has WAY more of an impact than this game.
This is the equivalent to the delayed release of timeshift... alas no one really cared either way.
Zoesch @ Jan 17th 2008 11:21AM
Alone in the... ahhh who cares
Giddieon @ Jan 17th 2008 12:26PM
Wow Justin all respect just went out the window... I mean come off it...
Just because the guy is an ass does not mean you have to run out and make an ass out of yourself with fat jokes...
How old are you??? Really???
Justin McElroy @ Jan 17th 2008 12:48PM
I'm rubber and you're banned.
deaftly @ Jan 17th 2008 12:54PM

KushielsScion007 @ Jan 17th 2008 1:07PM

xFenixKnightx @ Jan 17th 2008 1:16PM

xFenixKnightx @ Jan 17th 2008 1:19PM

Cyro @ Jan 17th 2008 1:32PM
lolz!
KushielsScion007 @ Jan 17th 2008 1:11PM
Looks like the ps3 gets sh*tted on again..like it deserves to.
I'm interested in this game more than I am in Condemned 2.
Jon D @ Jan 17th 2008 1:25PM
whoa, what's with all the PS3 hostility? Last time I checked, there wasn't much to brag about being a member of the MS crew. heh.
seriously though, bring that noise down a little. it's nice to meet someone that uses their brain to form an opinion, but their ARE some of us that actually game on other systems.
also, i'm posting from my PS3 :D lol
"I'm rubber and you're banned." - Possible tattoo in the works.
Abuzar @ Jan 17th 2008 4:04PM
Justin, you are the Ryan Block of Joystiq. Of course, you know, without the hot girlfriend part.
Andy S. @ Jan 17th 2008 1:38PM
Wow, banning people for calling you out on making offensive jokes? That's pretty weak.
Prince King @ Jan 17th 2008 2:18PM
i agree. Justin prolly likes it justin the butt. whatta homo
Justin McElroy @ Jan 17th 2008 2:49PM
It was actually for another comment he made that has been deleted.
I would, for instance, never ban someone like Prince, who only makes reasonable, well-thought out arguments.
BananaPoo @ Jan 17th 2008 3:45PM
To bad you can't ban yourself for your disrespectful comment eh...
Oh well... unless you want to ban yourself for it...
Mr.ESC @ Jan 17th 2008 3:46PM
Justin is in trouble, Joystiq Defense Force Assemble!!!
Seriously criticizing people for their grammar is probable the lowest form of insult, is not clever, is not smart and is annoying. If you want to make a constructive criticism please think on what you are going to say first and try to say it in a non-aggressive tone.
I’m not saying this only for Justin but for all the people in the internet that has been criticized or I should say abused by grammar Nazis and punctuation whores.
Yeah Justin’s response was sort of uncalled for (Spots incoming Ban hammer ) but I remind you that you started the argument. Also that he could just respond “Go fuck yourselves you unreasonable pricks”.

I can wait for Alone in the Dark, since Bloodshot and Smash are coming soon at least I know I’ll have something to play in May, unlike 2007 when I was still playing Crackdown while I was waiting for the Halo 3 beta and Forza 2
Well that’s all I have to say…I’m out.
BananaPoo @ Jan 17th 2008 3:55PM
I agree Mr.ESC people are really anal when it comes to spelling and grammar... I can't do either...sadly
But Justin was a prick in his reply he should be more diplomatic about it...
I can understand though he must be a relentless target...
But being an ass will just make him a larger target...
License to ill @ Jan 17th 2008 5:27PM
Got to admit I would have liked the "Go fuck yourselves you unreasonable pricks” perfect response...
Jon D @ Jan 17th 2008 6:32PM
well, the sad fact is, regardless of what your level of superiority is in whatever field you embark in, you're only human and every once in awhile, you have a moment where something slips.
in this case, it's the internet and afaik, he's not getting paid to update us on what's happening around the world of gaming. he has every right to be rude to someone whose being an ass to him.
you take time out of your day to do something for someone the least you expect in return is positive acknowledgement and not someone pointing out every flaw.
