There's a new trailer for Postal
"A religious charlatan (Foley), his mild mannered nephew (Ward) and a gang of bosomy commandos face off against Osama bin Laden and the Taliban in an epic battle that will determine the fate of the world in Postal, the latest film from controversial director Uwe Boll (BloodRayne). Boll roasts an entire herd of sacred cows and smashes taboos to smithereens in this over-the-top and hilariously subversive critique of modern day America."
...We thought we'd kick off with the description of Postal straight from the site of this new trailer, just because there is literally no combination of consonants and vowels we could create that would be more entertaining than that. Also, we're happy for Uwe Boll's burning of sacred cows, but did one of them have to be Dave Foley? Dear, sweet Dave Foley! Where did things go so wrong?!

Am I missing something here? I don't see how this has anything to do with video games...
NATO_Duke @ Jan 17th 2008 12:41PM
The game was called Postal - that game is where the movies root is based somehow.
Dave Foley- bad move.

riggs @ Jan 17th 2008 12:37PM
how the hell is he controversial
Crono (NDF - Knight of the Old School) @ Jan 17th 2008 12:49PM
Postal had some controversy surrounding it. Something about a 9/11 joke in poor taste.
Corbo @ Jan 17th 2008 1:30PM
Uwe Boll says he's great. Everyone else says he isn't. Thus, controversy.
Mal F4cti0n @ Jan 17th 2008 3:34PM
That is what I was wondering!
He is only controversial b/c his movies are so f*cking bad no can believe he gets money to make more! HA!
aaron_k7 @ Jan 17th 2008 12:40PM
Uwe Boll is famous for making movies based on video games...each one sucks. I think this movie is loosely based on the video game "Postal," a game where you play as an angry postal worker. He made the movie into a cultural commentary, though. I saw the trailer for Postal last night before seeing "In the Name of the King." That freaking movie met all my worst expectations. Awesomely bad doesn't do it justice...
Andy O. @ Jan 17th 2008 6:45PM
Actually you just play a guy "going Postal" in the game Postal, it has nothing to do with the US Postal system, although I think a post office was featured in one of the games.
I hate to say it but I'm planning to catch this one, granted I'll probably go to hell for watching it, but it looks like a cheap laugh (Yes, I plan to go see a good movie then jump theaters, that way if it's really bad I can leave without feeling bad, Sunday matinee's FTW!)
Donald @ Jan 17th 2008 12:41PM
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of fail in this sector.
Nigeria @ Jan 17th 2008 12:45PM
That made me laugh.
Hmmm.
I have nothing more to contribute to this discussion.
Richard Mitchell @ Jan 17th 2008 12:41PM
Oh why, Dave Foley? Why?
Cuppa_Ace @ Jan 17th 2008 12:43PM
Postal the crappy movie = postal the crappy game

Theres your connection~

Actually the original Postal was kind of fun, was 3d isometric version. Those guys at Running with Scissors sent me a bunch of free t-shirts back in the day when the blog-o-sphere wasn't invented yet. (sent them a nice letter), my favorite was the happy face logo on front with "I'm not a psycho, but I play one on my PC" on the back.
EMaster @ Jan 17th 2008 12:47PM
I'll check it out anyways. It looks funny.
GreyFox @ Jan 17th 2008 3:03PM
The trailer is ok but goddamn is that 5 minutes they put up on the web hilarious.
Chris @ Jan 17th 2008 12:49PM
Postal looks too much like Portal.
I get sick every time that forces me to think of a Ewe Boll directed Portal movie.
T3H WICKERMAN (FDF) @ Jan 17th 2008 12:52PM
David Foley? NOOOOO! I am a huge fan of Kids In the Hall (perhaps the best sketch comedy show evar!) and now I feel like Uwe Boll has raped a loved one. This spoiled piece of shit needs to stop punishing the world. The apple description says it pokes fun a the holocaust too. How desensitized are we, apparently not as much as Boll who seems more "american" than the people he seeks to lampoon.
ceiling tile @ Jan 26th 2008 2:57PM
I too was a bit alarmed to see Dave Foley in this movie at first, and thought that he'd made a huge mistake. and maybe he has.
But he chose to do this movie, and I think he did it for the same reason that he has recently gone grey and grown facial hair: to escape his squeaky-clean, innocent youngun image.
He's 45 now, which isn't really that old, but it's old enough that I suspect he got really sick of always being "the cute one" or "the innocent one". He was a doll when he was younger, but I think he probably wants to show people that there's more to him than that -- that he's got brains and wit too.
So even though it does seem like he's been defiled, I think it's a good move on his part, and I'll watch the movie if I ever get a chance.
32_Footsteps @ Jan 17th 2008 12:55PM
You know, I thought the only controversy surrounding Boll was that he was allowed to continue to make movies.
Jerk Face @ Jan 17th 2008 12:57PM
Dudes, listen:
That trailer is full of win. It looks so absurdly, ridiculously bad that it has to be great.

T3H WICKERMAN (FDF) @ Jan 17th 2008 1:04PM
Thats what people say about ALL of his movies, yet he never delivers the Ed Wood bad. Also if you want to see a movie thats so bad its good track down (and I may be wrong on the title, but Traci Lords is in it so IMDB) "The Funny Farm or something about a crazy guy that does awful impressions of famous characters. God it is high art its so bad.
Fullmetal Salchemist @ Jan 17th 2008 1:23PM
Why, guy from Titus, why?!
riggs @ Jan 17th 2008 2:18PM
I used to love that show :( *clicks off lightbulb*
JodyAnthony (death by snoo-snoo) @ Jan 17th 2008 1:45PM
wait wait wait
dave foley is in this!?
day one for me
tactics @ Jan 17th 2008 3:26PM
yeah... that's what i was thinking too. but then i noticed that you see his penis in the movie.
really though, could it be all that bad if foley agreed to do it?
well, i guess he's hard up for work :/ he's been doing World Poker Tour for years now.
-"superfan" tactics.
xGeneral DEATHx @ Jan 17th 2008 1:50PM
Can't someone stop this from happening?
Worst Review Ever @ Jan 17th 2008 2:56PM
Yes sir, your Generalship! All I need are 30 gallons of orange juice concentrate, 28 gallons of gasoline, and no questions from anybody. Oh, and an acetylene torch.
xGeneral DEATHx @ Jan 17th 2008 5:00PM
That's what I like to hear, Soldier! Now, you go out to the shed and get that torch. The rest of what you need can be found at your friendly neighborhood Wal-Mart. No Questions Asked. Guaranteed.
kazoo @ Jan 17th 2008 2:06PM
I remember playing Postal 2, you could taze people until they pissed themselves, as well as take a leak on them.
If its anything like the game, I expect it to be rated R for Retarded
BeckRokk @ Jan 17th 2008 2:17PM
Dave Foley? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Surely you can't be this desperate for money, can you?
Dwain @ Jan 17th 2008 2:48PM
That's not just the guy from Titus - that's the guy that played Scott Farkus, the bane of Ralphie's existence in A Christmas Story. Uwe Boll has now managed to destroy both a cherished Holiday tradition and my happy junior high memories of watching Kids in the Hall on HBO by putting both of these people together in yet another cinematic abortion.
32_Footsteps @ Jan 17th 2008 2:55PM
You got it wrong - Ralphie beat Scott Farkus so hard, he made Farkus Uwe Boll's bitch. That was one severe beating.
Marty @ Jan 17th 2008 3:08PM
Well, as much as I love Kids in the Hall, it's not surprising about Dave Foley.
Uwe Boll... I'm not mad at him for his horrendous movies, I'm mad at the movie studio suit who KEEPS GIVING THAT HACK A JOB.
I'm also mad at the ACTORS WHO APPARENTLY DON'T TAKE THE TIME TO FIND OUT WHO THEY ARE WORKING UNDER.
Sheesh.
And Uwe Boll is such an idiot... it's one thing to have a few haters... but when EVERY one of your films bomb and EVERYONE hates you and gamers WANT YOUR HEAD ON A PLATE, maybe it's time to look in a mirror and think to yourself, "Maybe I DO suck?"
What's next Mr Boll? Dance Dance Revo the movie about a group of urban kids who must dance to save the world from the Taliban? GIVE IT UP!
harma41 @ Jan 17th 2008 3:14PM
Oh Dave Foley. Why!!!! You are too good for this garbage. Make another Kids in the Hall movie instead. Brain Candy was the best.
Cap'n Jack @ Jan 17th 2008 3:34PM
SCOTT FARKUS!
Lard @ Jan 17th 2008 4:03PM
Poor, poor Dave Foley.
My childhood shattered :(
konajinx @ Jan 17th 2008 5:01PM
Not too far back, I actually volunteered to subject myself to reviewing Boll's "BloodRayne 2: Deliverance" on DVD. It really made me hate movies for a short time afterward:

Mr Khan @ Jan 17th 2008 5:34PM
The best way to advertise it would be the clip from Rocko's modern life
"Ever since i got laid off at the post office; i'm feelin' a little bit... disgruntled."
TheWarden @ Jan 17th 2008 5:54PM
Oh, I can't wait! This will go straight to DVD: Postal: Extra Urination Unrated Edition! Whoo-ooo!
J @ Jan 18th 2008 3:20PM
Who's the guy under the fat chick? It looks/sounds like Will Smith O.o
T @ Jan 18th 2008 10:50PM
I don't know if "controversial" is the right word to describe Boll.
Of course, the same could be said for "director" too.
