Bully giving atomic wedgies on Wii and Xbox 360 the first week of March
The rumors of Bully's Wii and Xbox 360 semester starting in March were pretty much on the money, with Rockstar confirming North America starts class on March 4 and the UK getting a delayed opening 'til March 7. As is evidenced by the Xbox 360 screenshot above, Rockstar isn't making the awkward teenagers of Bullworth Academy any prettier for their now-gen premiere. The game is pretty much a port of the PS2 version with some improvements -- hopefully the loading times will be one of them.
Bully: Scholarship Edition features eight new missions, four new classes and some other minor upgrades like achievements for the Xbox 360 and waggle-added gameplay for Wii. The tuition for this trip to Bullworth will be $50 on both systems. We'd say just pick Bully on the cheap for your PS2, but achievements or waggle will probably make another spin with Jimmy Hopkins on a new system worth it.

You think they would take at least a SMALL amount of time to do something with the obviously dated graphics. I wouldn't be able to justify paying 50$ for a game I could pick up for a fifth of that on the PS2.
Fox318 @ Jan 18th 2008 11:07PM
I might consider this for 360. I dont get it for my ps2 and the achievements/ slightly updated graphics may influence my choice.

Being a Wii owner I understand why they don't up the graphics a bit (I wish they would), but porting to the 360 and doing anything about it? Lame.
playwhutyalike (makes it a Metroid Prime Weekend) @ Jan 18th 2008 11:20PM
I meant to say "not" doing anything about it.
t_m @ Jan 19th 2008 8:42AM
The graphics weren't that great at the time on the PS2, and the gamecube did significantly better graphics than the PS2, and the Wii should do signif... oh i give up.
playwhutyalike @ Jan 19th 2008 9:05AM
I see what you did there.
Beatz @ Jan 18th 2008 11:21PM
Holy crap. 50 bucks for a year-old game? With graphics that were dated even when it was on the PS2? In the words of Abraham Lincoln, fuck that.
playwhutyalike @ Jan 19th 2008 9:06AM
That was the funniest thing I read all morning.
puppy kisses @ Jan 18th 2008 11:22PM
hmmm... mediocre game with upgrades in face graphics.... pass
RoboChamp @ Jan 18th 2008 11:37PM
I'd so re-buy that for the 360. For $20 less...
Ben @ Jan 19th 2008 10:03AM
Yeah, $50 for a port of a PS2 game (that I really enjoyed) is just a little to much.
waynski1457 @ Jan 18th 2008 11:44PM
rental on 360 for awesome weekend achievements. nothing more.
tmmoore_nc @ Jan 18th 2008 11:45PM
Sent.to.Die.

I thought I heard this will be budget priced. Even so, no thanks Rock Star, you can keep your PS2 shovelware off the 360. Nothing like PS3 getting LA Noire from Rockstar a next-gen title and then the 360 getting a PS2 port.. LOL Who are they kidding?
Catprog @ Jan 19th 2008 1:15AM
Another way of looking at it is they couldn't even be bothered to make a port from the PS2 for the PS3.
I can't think of another view for the exclusive though.
ThornedVenom @ Jan 19th 2008 1:30AM
Somebody's been drinking too much loco juice for the 360 's port price and quality.
BIGGEN @ Jan 19th 2008 2:03AM
i was thinking the same thing about the wii's price
Markez @ Jan 19th 2008 2:53AM
I suppose if it's shown that other games can be ported, sell well, and get reviewed well (I suppose RE4 might be an extreme example), than why not give it a shot with a PS2 game that came towards the end of it's lifecycle?
I had a great deal of fun with the game on the PS2, and I would guess for people giving it a 1st try it might be worth it with the extra content. While I'll admit this game was a blast, and had some quality humor in it, I'll admit I got bored towards the very end and didn't finish it before trading it away.
Oh well.
JeffM @ Jan 19th 2008 5:47AM
But the music will still be fantastic!
Agree with others - I played this game way too much on the PS2- I'd look at it for $20 for the 360.
Derek Rudolph @ Jan 19th 2008 10:11AM
I really liked this game for the PS2, I'm up for purchasing it for the 360 and playing through it again.
jynxycat @ Jan 19th 2008 10:26AM
Even with updated graphics, this game was like playing GTA, but replace the cars with huffys, replace the violence in the missions with science class, and add in some gay kissing scenes.
Pass.
Geist @ Jan 19th 2008 1:07PM
I liked this game, because it had the GTA mechanics without the tired setting of GTA games. "Oh I have to go find more hookers/kill people/smash others etc? Yay." Not to say I don't like GTA games, but I like to see the gameplay in other settings, too.
Adv2k1 @ Jan 19th 2008 11:17AM
Wow, Rockstar must be pissed off that Smash Brothers Brawl got delayed because bully will be a guaranteed flop now. March will be Smash Brothers Month no doubt about that with at least 1.5 million sold in March alone (My Prediction) . Rockstar would be smart to delay the Wii version until July and just polish the game more and wait until Brawl simmers down a bit.
Phillip @ Jan 19th 2008 12:57PM
I'd pick it up for maybe 30, but 50 is harsh. Perhaps a nice rental over the summer when there's nothing else out.
