Buying the xbox 360 console grants the user a lifetime of silverm embership, kinda like how when you buy a wii/ps3 you get their service free too.

If it experiences problems, regardless of membership- they wanted to make good by their users.

PLUS- if you go on xbox.com (I would find it, but I am too tired right now), find the original letter stating about the "free arcade game." The letter said it is for hitting a new record in online users, not for the service being out.

If live services are not available to either party they should recieve compensation regardless of paying for a gold account.

I payed for a 3 month gold card july31st to Sept.31 or around there. If my xbox starting freezing in Sept. and this is not not covered under ms 3 year rrod warranty they want me to pay them 100 dollars. Since I already payed them 399 2 years ago and they want another 100 dollars do I have to pay them? yes if I wanted that console fixed. Instead I sold it off to gamestop and a good friend of mine gave me his core for 20 bucks (I kept my hardrive). Microsoft owes me 2 to 4 hundred dollars for a faulty console the least they could do is offer a 10 dollar game for faulty live! But it's a start in the right direction.

I wish there would be a world without overheating freezing 360's not covered under 3 year warranty... *sigh*

I think it is totally lame that it was not covered under the 3 year warrently.

HOWEVER, a core for 20$... WHAT A STEAL!

did you mean 200$??? If so, then its not as good- lol

I do not want an Arcade game, not a bad one nor a good one, not a 800 MSP nor a 400 MSP one.

I want a free month of Xbox Live. That's what I would have liked them giving us paying Live members (us goldmembers). It's not hard to do as they do it all the time when someones console is being repaired, away for a couple of weeks. You get a free month Live extra. For MS it's no big deal, it's all virtual money anyway, besides just one month of Live is not ofputting anyone from buying new yearly Livememberships or anything.

Really not looking forward to underwater game that I felt not being fun to play at all. Don't care if graphics are nice, don't care if explosions really rumble your subwoofer, don't care, didn't liked the game in the first place. Besides, if I did liked the game, I would have bought it allready and I still prefer a free month of Live. Much more adequate me thinks.

Also, Silver members don't need Live anyway, they don't feel like paying for getting online with their games, that's fine, so they don't need to be online to play their singleplayer games. So they never needed to plug in their console on the net anyway.
They do not have to be compensated. We neither (if u look at offical policy), but when they do announce a gift, make it something every Goldmember can enjoy: free month Live OR free Arcade game that's totally new and really profides something new and fun, like they did with the Pokergame.

What about to download stuff? There is more to Live then just playing with people. Live was messed up, and it froze peoples dashboards, their downloads were slow, and the service was shitty. After buying a 350$ console, you are entitled to those features, which were not provided.

Why not just give us the 800 points instead of picking the XBLA game that had the least purchases in the entire catalog. Well I guess that ensures that people will be able to find opponents for an online game.

It's basically Battlefield underwater...I'd prefer Arkadian Warriors personally. I wouldn't buy it...but I'd at least take it for free...Undertow...well you can give my copy to someone else.

Ugh. Undertow? I played the demo and didn't like it. At all. 2D version of Battlefield? How do you figure that? It's an over-designed 2.5D version of Defender, if anything. I'd rather have my missed post-christmas vacation-game-time online-friends-funtime back. That, or 1600 live points...

i like the FREE game & M. Nelson said if you have to call Cst. Serv. & "they'll take care of you". I assume they want to make money of the ordeal. If they give us 800 pts then we'll do what we want. Rent a movie or what not. By giving us a game they have the options to sell DLC for a game that was not selling as much anyhow. Yet, after most get teh FREE game then they'll make money of it atleast thru DLC. i'm getting it Wednesday when i wake up.

I don't even LIKE XBLA games. I never buy them. Even if I wanted this POS free game, my 360 is currently at the Repair Center anyway for RROD like so many others. How am I supposed to obtain it?

This offer does me NO good. Points should have been awarded instead. A "free" item that has no interest to me is of zero value.
