Hey, loved the podcast! Sorry my email was so freakin' long. It did spark some good commentary though and I think I detected some truly genuine regretfulness on Justin's part although I think he's livin' the dream, as you all are, in many respects. My students all asked if you can really make money writing about video games and I told them you're living proof. They then proceeded to ask how you can become a food critic, professional TV watcher (that job does actually exist!), and a video game tester, so I guess they sort of lumped bloggers into the same category as those jobs.
Oh, and I always imagined Ludwig driving a cooler car than a VW. When I see him in my mind's eye I see him in a white Toyota Landcruiser.
Korova @ Jan 24th 2008 1:42PM
Good cast. I listened to this one twice, it was really good - like ice cream.

But I can't you are or were Jesus...I can't down vote Jesus...
shivr @ Jan 18th 2008 3:39PM
ok
Korova @ Jan 24th 2008 1:28PM
And they said he was supposed to be omnipotent.
Nietzsche FTW!
Neon Jebus @ Jan 18th 2008 1:50PM
If only I could download these while at work. Boy would it make my Friday afternoons go faster.
Ludwig, don't be calling Justin chubby, it's 'pleasantly plump'.
Not that I would know one way or another...man this feels like some crazy Deja Vu...
A Pissed-off English Gamer @ Jan 18th 2008 2:09PM
Last time there were some pretty harsh comments for the British (joking or nay). Can i trust you guys, or can i expect more spurious lies?
Christopher Grant @ Jan 18th 2008 2:37PM
Oh, don't mind us. If people believed everything we said about other countries, imagine what South Africans would think about the show!
Neon Jebus @ Jan 18th 2008 2:46PM
I thought Ludwig was the only one in South Africa with internet access. So how could the others be upset?
Unless you have podcast available via telegraph...
FidliousWong @ Jan 18th 2008 3:18PM
They record the podcast onto an 8-track than strap a player to a meerkat. So walking through the open prairie can get quite odd.
FidliousWong @ Jan 18th 2008 3:29PM
Also, another thing I noticed. Cry about it all you want but here we go.
On any given day, at any given time, gamers of all nationalities are made fun of. American gamers tend to get it the worst. Essentially the term "American" has become an insult in and of itself. And yet, for the most part, we roll along with it. Teehee and all that rot. But man...
Canadian and Europian gamers, especially on sites like this, always get the pissiest. They jump directly on "you fucking americans make fun of us" forgetting one major point, WE MAKE FUN OF EVERYONE. It always amuses me.
A Pissed-off English Gamer @ Jan 18th 2008 10:13PM
Heh, I wasn't that serious. Besides, since when is being called american an insult? That sounds pretty odd :-/
T3H WICKERMAN (FDF) (BWF) @ Jan 19th 2008 11:57PM
No jeebus, carrier pigeons alert Allan Quartermain who treks through the wild to deliver this info.
Rob @ Jan 18th 2008 2:13PM
Anyone else not spotting it on i-tunes?
J @ Jan 18th 2008 2:28PM
My favorite part of every podcast is when Justin finds whatever piece of food that's been missing and then shouts it out.
Justin McElroy @ Jan 18th 2008 2:38PM
Mine too, J.
Mine too.
ogvor @ Jan 18th 2008 2:47PM
This podcast has fast become one of my favorites (along with Downloadable Content, 1Up Yours, and GFW's "The Brodeo").
I listened to the first episode and it was just terrible, terrible stuff. I tried again on the Portal episode and being that it was hilarious, I quickly subscribed.
Keep up the grest work guys!
samfish @ Jan 18th 2008 3:07PM
I keep thinking you're Vidikron.
Beryan @ Jan 18th 2008 2:59PM
Glad to see you caught the Cheetah (Lion?), Ludwig, your voice makes me yellow mellow.
Deckard @ Jan 18th 2008 3:03PM
The good and bad part about this podcast is how funny it is. I listen to all my podcasts and work and it's pretty much impossible to make it through the episode at my desk without cracking up and creating a totally awkward situation in an almost silent office environment. Especially during Ludwig's description of a typical day in South Africa. "Awkward" episode, indeed.
Aero @ Jan 18th 2008 3:59PM
You need to get yourself a spear or something Ludwig, last weeks show wasn't the same without you :)
Gilfy @ Jan 18th 2008 4:57PM
Chris! I have a 1987 Volvo 240. They are excellent cars... you should probably get another one.
Heck get a 245 wagon and you'll be set! psh truck schmuck.
Christopher Grant @ Jan 19th 2008 2:12PM
Don't make me feel any worse than I already do!
chady @ Jan 18th 2008 10:48PM
I look forward to this and the other various gaming podcasts during the week. I enjoy hearing peoples opinions on the various gaming issues as well their gaming experiences. I think it puts a more personal touch than the articles that you run here at the site
I was wondering though about the time limit you seem to have on the podcasts is that going to be fixed or are you just happy with the length as it is now. Anyways keep up the good work
Kendall B @ Jan 18th 2008 10:56PM
'pussy buffoon' was uttered for the second straight week! Does Justin McElroy have it in him to make it three in a row?
Seriously though guys, you have a great podcast. I finally drank the podcast kool-aid about two months ago and loaded up on a bunch of gaming-related casts. Yours has really separated itself from the others and is the one I look the most forward to hearing every week.
Dan CiTi @ Jan 19th 2008 1:22AM
Dude, Adam Sessler rules.
Nesta @ Jan 19th 2008 8:05AM
Why can't we have F-Bombs? I love the F-Bombs.
Christopher Grant @ Jan 19th 2008 2:13PM
I just figure we don't curse on the site, it shouldn't be any different on the podcast. As it is, I curse too much, the podcast is good practice on communicating like a sophisticated person instead of a Mamet character.
Donald @ Jan 20th 2008 11:14AM
I didn't hear the "achievement" sound effect on this one. I think the editor was a little trigger happy.
T3H WICKERMAN (FDF) @ Jan 19th 2008 1:15PM
Wow for my 500th post at this blog I have now been Brushed With Fame!!! Thanks for the kind words guys Ive had a shitty week and this was a nice treat! Keep up the good work, these podcast are often the high point of the week for me. Isnt Sam and Max comming to XBLA or is that a filthy rumor?
Christopher Grant @ Jan 19th 2008 2:14PM
As far as I know, that's still a filthy rumor! Though I've no idea why it shouldn't ... the episodic model is perfect for Xbox Live.
Mr Khan @ Jan 19th 2008 2:37PM
Telltale has often iterated that they have been preparing such content
They've said it at least twice thus far
SuperFly @ Jan 19th 2008 8:35PM
Hey, Can you guys make your podcast RSS feed PSP compatible? It doesn't seem to find any of your MP3s.
Jerk Face @ Jan 19th 2008 9:41PM
Absolutely stellar podcast, as always, gents!
T3H WICKERMAN (FDF) (BWF) @ Jan 20th 2008 12:04AM
Heres a question for your next p-yod kast(yeehaw)...what is your avatar Chris? Ive had it in my head since ive been on this site that its some weird ass anime solid snake with a mario hat. ( The monitors i use are rubbish, and have poor clarity.) Also what is everyone else on the kast avatar supposed to be? Kietzmanns looks like a Big O character, and Mc Elroys...I dont know if I want to know... You guys should also set up a template of just the hat so new users can customize their avatars. Im ready to go back to my TMNT one and he needs a hat.
Ludwig Kietzmann @ Jan 20th 2008 9:37AM
Chris' avatar is Solid Snake from Metal Gear Awesome (plus Mario hat). Mine's Shocking Alberto, a villain from "Giant Robo: The Day the Earth Stood Still."
Justin's avatar is, well, Justin.
finnith @ Jan 20th 2008 12:41PM
I love those Awesome videos. I think the FF7 one is the best.
theCardinal @ Jan 20th 2008 11:47AM
The podcast just keeps getting better guys. Keep it up. For me it hit a high point last week with the Flaming Lips love and the Anchorman quotes.
SoxFan13 @ Jan 20th 2008 6:55PM
I really appreciate this podcast. You guys are really funny in a way that's not trying to hard (i.e. Shane Bettenhausen on 1up yours). Keep it up and we'll keep listening and digging.
Monge161 @ Jan 20th 2008 8:44PM
Lions...
Dustin @ Jan 21st 2008 10:49AM
It was awesome to have the whole gang back together again!
Although I definitely thought it was awesome having new voices on the show, so here's my vote to get Andrew Yoon on the podcast!
And here's another sentence with an exclamation mark and the end!
Jeff @ Jan 21st 2008 11:28AM
Say, nurse, could you get me a schtickle of fluoride? Ah, Seinfeld is great.

Alone in the Dark: You guys haven't seen the mindblowing footage????
Atari might be in the dumps, but this shows a lot of promise. This, along with Alan Wake, and Condemned 2 are set to be the most atmospheric games of 2008!
