If anything broke, it was a glass door on the cabinet... but I'm not sure I completely buy it since the 'mother' didn't freak out.

Kids still do that these days, they don't think the strap is needed.

Not only that, a lot of people pull the notch on the strap ALL THE WAY DOWN BEFORE putting it on the strap...so it hangs really loose.
I'm not talking about a few either. I'm talking about A LOT, for some reason, no one grasps the idea of how to put it on properly.

PS3 freaks always try to use the whole "wiimote flew off and hit plasma screen"-excuse against the Wii... but they don't realize it's the users faults for not putting on their straps properly ( and the old straps weren't bad! Mine still work completely to this day! )...

And.. er... yes, people do swing that hard. I swing that hard.
When you get into the game, you REALLY get into the game.
...you should see how hard I throw it...

But these kids really need to know how to HOLD ON TIGHT when you're swinging the Wiimote... it's as if their hands are made of grease or something.

It wasn't the TV that broke you can clearly see it still producing light after the camera zooms in on the glass. Although it does look like their was a glass door that did shatter. I am kind of suspicious of the mother not going off on the kids. Also with all the horror stories of not wearing a wrist strap and all the warnings you would think the idiots would put the thing on.

BTW has anyone seen the clasp on the new Wiimotes? It is great.

I called the big N and asked for the newer straps with the locking clasp on them, and they sent em.

I now have 4 complete straps of all 3 versions.

When getting the latest set (with locking clasp), I had to call, and tell them that the 2nd gen straps with the little slider piece would always come loose, and the strap would always slip back off. Which actually, is completely true.

Hey TheDave do you still have an invoice or something with the part numbers for the new wrist straps with the clasp? I did the wrist strap replacement and I was given the part number 62519 when I check the order details and I want to make sure I am getting the clasp on the straps.

Gee, only looked slightly staged. -1 for the "Oh No!" face at the end. Regardless, it had nothing to do with the cheap attachment, just a lame-o w/o a wrist-strap.

Dude you think they staged this or something? Maybe the woman holding the camera wasnt the mother of the kid who actually did the damage. You think she is going to go off on someone elses kid? If i were in the mothers position i wouldnt get mad really. Its only a glass door, and it was an accident.

Bingo! I think that's exactly what happened.. It looks like the kid in the back corner on the recliner is the actual son and the kid at bat is a friend of his.. he swings, breaks the entertainment center glass door and you're right, the mom isn't going to go ape shit on him or anything since it isn't her kid. To me, both of their reactions show that they aren't related. My friends and I were in similar situations growing up and this is how it always played out.

I love how the mother can see the TV from the angle she's holding the camera at.
Either Im being overly sceptical or she is very good at leaning round corners...

My question is this...why was the kid NOT wearing his wrist strap? Lame baseball bat attachment or not...you can see the wrist strap dangling from the end of the bat before he swings and 'scores'.

It was clearly the glass door on the entertainment center that was broken...you can see the TV at the very end still showing a picture.

I never wear the wrist strap and my Wii remote has never flown into the wall, tv or anything. It depends on the games you play and how you use the Wii remote. Most of the games I have (Super Paper Mario, SMG, MP3, DBZ BT3, and RE4) have very limited movement with the Wii remote if any at all. Which is why I love the fact RE4, DBZ BT3, and soon to be SSBB use the classic controller.

I believe that was real, because I've broken a window, glass lamp, ect with the same expression or less from the mom. But I'm also a spoiled kid, so my conclusion is that the boy in the video is too.
