N+ greenlighted for Xbox Live Arcade, includes multiplayer

News about the Xbox Live Arcade adaptation of N, the popular freeware platformer featuring everyone's favorite pint-sized, treasure hungry ninja, has been slim as of late. Though news of a cancellation or delay of the title would not surprise our bitter, jaded hearts, we were pleased to learn that N+ was recently approved by the XBLA gatekeepers, and should be showing up in the marketplace before too much longer.
Of course, you could always download the full PC version of the game for free, however, you'll be missing out on the upgraded features and visuals of the XBLA title, not to mention the recently announced multiplayer modes. With frantic, four-player ninja-on-ninja-on-ninja-on-ninja action, we're sure the game will be a big hit -- we just hope this will allow developer Slick Entertainment to afford a longer title for their next creation.

If you haven't played N before, you fail at gaming, period.
Get N or get out.
LittleKey @ Jan 19th 2008 12:21PM
So true, so very true.
MasterInsan0 @ Jan 19th 2008 12:26PM
Clever. =P
I'd never played it, but now I'm going to wait to play the + version for the optimal experience.
chispito @ Jan 19th 2008 4:16PM
Master, I would still play the PC version just so you can get a feel for the phsyics and the finesse of controlling it. It takes a few dozen levels before you'll really get the knack.
Mr.ESC @ Jan 20th 2008 1:15AM
Huh,I thought it was N or GTFO.
Its cool,I never got the time to finish the PC version tho'
capt_carl @ Jan 19th 2008 12:37PM
N is awesome, but stupidly hard at times. Think Ninja Gaiden hard.
Phillip Carrington @ Jan 19th 2008 12:52PM
So I downloaded it and missing the fun portion of the game. Is there a jump button or something because the first level is just about impossible besides the bottom part.
thomashenwood @ Jan 19th 2008 12:57PM
You have to hold the jump button and also hold the diirection button. That doesn't make it much easier though.
Word Up, North Korea! @ Jan 19th 2008 12:58PM
I'm not sure who would pay for this game on xbox when its free online
raigan @ Jan 22nd 2008 6:20PM
..how about 450 new levels?
Moffka @ Jan 19th 2008 1:29PM
For just some upgrades to a free game, this better be no more than $5.
chispito @ Jan 19th 2008 4:17PM
Just wait till it's released for the DS (and I think PSP) for $30-40.
Rob Accomando @ Jan 19th 2008 7:17PM
Upgraded visuals?? Wow, HiDef DOTS and LINES.
The Kire @ Jan 19th 2008 8:45PM
Excuse me? Hi-def squares, semicircles, and oddly shaped blobs as well.
Rob Accomando @ Jan 19th 2008 11:46PM
Oh? Ok then. That's friggin' sweet
mike @ Jan 20th 2008 3:18AM
you guys dont get it. They added multiplayer support, online... AND CO-OP (also online). To top it off, it has hd resolution support with dynamic zooming (makes playing alot easier) and of course you can use the 360 controller with full support, which plays MUCH better then the pc version using a keyboard (Ive played the XBLA version). Also, they included a level editor (or at least I was told). Now while you could make your own levels on the pc, it was difficult. Now there is an easy to use editor and once your done, you and your friend can paly on it over live on co-op or vs.
All that is deffenitly worth 800ms points (which I assume they will be charging). Not sure if its worth $40 like the ds/psp versions will cost however? Each the psp,ds and XBLA all have 25+ unique levels to each version.

"we just hope this will allow developer Slick Entertainment to afford a longer title for their next creation"
This could be taken 1 of 2 ways - either they need a more alphabetically full title (say, at least three letters), or the games not long enough.
If it's the 2nd, you are too damn good at this game if you reckon it's too short. It's crazy hard! I've had it for a good 9 months, and I'm only half way through of thereabouts. The latter half of the game is damn near impossible!
Also, @ Mike: "deffenitly"? Congratulations, sir. In all my wanderings on all the interwebs, I don't think I've come across that spelling before.
mike @ Jan 20th 2008 5:59PM
Wow, then you need to go back to the internet. deffenitly is the interweb equivalent for definitely. Like how people miss spell pron, moar, etc etc. Just google it, there’s thousands of results. The fact that you have never seen it must mean your new to the virtual world.
As for other words actually miss spelled by whomever, do you get enjoyment out of seeing them or something? How strange.
Rob @ Jan 21st 2008 4:27PM
Googled, seen lots of uses (all in the comments sections of blogs). Fair enough, I'd just never seen it before. I think I just have an aversion to web speak and txt speak.
colin @ Jan 21st 2008 11:05PM
i think its funny when people say "defiantly" when they mean to say "definitely."
Rob @ Jan 22nd 2008 3:37PM
I defiantly know what you're talking about.
lulz
Jonah Falcon @ Jan 21st 2008 12:12AM
I believe you can create your own levels in the XBLA version, too.
