Did you hear the one about the two Portal security guns? Smooth Few Films, creator of
The Leet World, takes boring office banter to
Portal's timecard workers -- the security turrets. Through
this video, we witness ordinary events in these drones' day, all tied together with
Portal in-jokes. It's like
Office Space recast with robot guns as the leads.
The video probably rates
NSFW for language at most jobs. (School teacher: yes. Lobster fisherman: no.) With the stress that these workers endure, we can forgive them for swearing. See the video after the break.

Yahtzee now writes for PC Gamer, and his first article was about how the internet is ruining Portal.
I was optimistic until I saw this.
Chase @ Jan 19th 2008 1:33AM
Wait - you're not excited for the Portal hentai? You weirdo. ~_0

The internets eventually ruin all things, breaking them down into simple parts so the masses can digest them. One day, these parts will be reborn, and we will rejoice at the wonder we have found.
Einhanderkiller @ Jan 19th 2008 1:57AM
Oh, really? Maybe I'll finally subscribe to the magazine. They've been sending me these "hey, asshole, you still need to send us twenty bucks or we'll continue to annoy you with these annoying slips of paper whose purpose is to annoy you and remind you that you still need to pay us" slips of annoying paper for a few months now because I signed up for two free issues.
giantenemycrab @ Jan 19th 2008 3:18AM
Wait, he writes for PC Gamer now? Great, now I have to subscribe.

Wargames references, always topical.

amazing.
ThornedVenom @ Jan 19th 2008 1:36AM
I found that internetly hilarious. XD Although of course, my shattered heart still belongs to that succeessfully triumphant cake-baking GlaDOS. ;P
GreyFox @ Jan 19th 2008 1:43AM
Ah internet acronyms in spoken word is somehow always hilarious.
StrangeBum @ Jan 19th 2008 1:56AM
Damn, that was some funny shit. All except the part with the WCC. The voice just didn't fit it, and it was just a rather pointless part in my opinion. But the silly banter between the turrets was great. Especially the singing.
Doo do doo dooo. doo do doo dee doo de doo.
Chyld989 @ Jan 19th 2008 2:02AM
That was the dumbest thing I've seen in a long time, and I just watched American Pie presents: Beta House last night.
But hey, at least it's still better than those stupid cat pictures Joystiq seems so fond of.
BPM4:Guns of the Idiots @ Jan 19th 2008 3:13AM
"I'll see you in Hell, Cube."
That was a great video.
Jerk Face @ Jan 19th 2008 12:59PM
Hell yes. I can't figure out why so many people here are hating on it. I laughed my ass off!
"Halo 3 is Call of Duty 4's bitch."

Maybe it's because I'm sick and wearing winter clothes with the heat jacked up to 80, but the "Still Alive" portion slayed me. Actually yes, I think it is because I am sick.
michas_pi @ Jan 19th 2008 4:24AM
I thoroughly enjoyed this video.
Kujel @ Jan 19th 2008 5:11AM

best going.
Faar @ Jan 19th 2008 6:57AM
Loved the vid, funny as hell. But I absolutely totally detest gamevideos, that site always gives rotten performance. If you're watching a streaming video, what's the point of streaming it if it takes 5 times longer to stream it than the video actually lasts? I wish Joystiq would stop linking to this sucky "service". :(
StarFoxA @ Jan 19th 2008 7:42AM
That was absolutely hilarious
waynski1457 @ Jan 19th 2008 8:13AM
the part when he was yelling "shiiiiiiiiiiit" is exactly how i felt the first time i played that level. good times.
Sean Tyler @ Jan 19th 2008 8:22AM
Not really as funny as i'd hoped. bleh. Good idea, not so great execution.
Obie @ Jan 19th 2008 8:42AM
Funny and very well done. I enjoyed it.

Please let this Portal shit die already.
You hear that noise? That's me on my hands and knees, begging.
capt_carl @ Jan 19th 2008 12:36PM
That was amusing.
Leela @ Jan 19th 2008 2:33PM
The main appeal of the turrets is their sugary-sweet innocence, and this video looses that.
Demaar @ Jan 19th 2008 3:21PM
Have to agree with you there. They're innocently killing you without any remorse with almost cute dialogue. "Could you come over here?"
wait in the car @ Jan 19th 2008 2:41PM
Outstanding
SpekOpz @ Jan 19th 2008 3:15PM
lol, that was awesome
Billy @ Jan 19th 2008 3:47PM
I thought it was kind of dumb at first but I found myself laughing quite a bit as it went on, especially the last minute or so. Thumbs up from me :)
Mr.ESC @ Jan 19th 2008 10:55PM
Ditto, the beginning was dumb but then it was truly great.
Well this was a triumph.
(Portal reference, proceed to up vote me)
randomshagz @ Jan 20th 2008 6:42PM
Portal stuff always makes me laugh.
I thought it was good-stuff.
Mr.ESC @ Jan 19th 2008 10:54PM
It was better than expected.
It was hilarious when they started to sing "Still Alive"
driven2sin @ Jan 19th 2008 11:46PM
that was great - people are inbred assholes hating that..
