Bully causes Brit-troversy a year late and a pound short
Like trying to resuscitate a year-old corpse, the UK's Telegraph attempted to reinvigorate controversy about Bully now that it's coming to Wii and Xbox 360 in March. The Telegraph gets mileage out of the non-troversy by pulling a Manhunt 2 and explaining that acting out movements with the Wiimote is what makes this game relevant again as an issue. What also seems to stick in some people's craw is that the ridiculous renaming of Bully to Canis Canem Edit (Dog eat Dog) in the UK is out and the original name is back in.
Now that the game has been out for a while, is it too much to ask that critics play the game before commenting on it -- scratch that, of course it is. Anybody who has played Bully knows that it is a smart satire of boarding school and protagonist Jimmy Hopkins is clearly more of a lover than a fighter. We're just hoping that the Wii and Xbox 360 versions of Bully are precursors to a sequel announcement.

Its only a matter of time until holorooms are invented and you can beat somebody to death over and over, but anyway sounds to me like the telegraph are trying to get som attention.

The Telegraph is like a virgin attempting to sexually asphyxiate a deflated blow-up doll while not realising that the doll is deflated, or the doll is a doll.
This game should come out for £20-25 like Resident Evil 4. Even though I didn't buy Resident Evil 4.

Bear in mind that the Telegraph is exactly the kind of right wing paper whose readers want to read about this kind of "scandal". Feeling morally superior is their main hobby - no need for us to spoil their fun. It's not like any of them will ever even see the game, never mind play it.

Sounds like a reference to that song, Day-late, Dollar-short.
Oh well.

Please tell me that you can use the Wiimote to initiate boy-on-boy kissing. I'll watch Fox news for a week just to count the number of on-air aneurysms.
"It's worse than Manhunt 2!!!"

Of all the games to port to the Wii and 360, I'm not sure why the picked this one. No one was even interested in the first one and it wasn't exactly popping up on GotY lists or anything.

Bully was an awesome game, I thought.

The controversy over Bully was simply ridiculous. Stores like GAME had posters up warning people they had to show an ID to purchase it. Yet it would be trivial to pick up 20 or 30 games that were far more violent that Bully was at the same rating. I can understand why Manhunt attracts controversy but not this game. Bully has nothing that wasn't seen in games like Skooldaze practically 15 years ago.

Since i never cared for this game i'll just say: BRING ON OKAMI........ if any game was and is meant for Wii is OKAMI... Anybody that played it has had that in mind since the Wii came out, and THEY (DEVELOPER) better not mess it up... Well not that they can mess it up that BAD, but i mean that HOPEFULLY it won't be like Mortal Kombat: Armaggedon that the controls were just an AFTERTHOUGHT... oh, and whomever didn't play this game and likes EPIC STORY, GAMEPLAY, GRAPHICS, MUSIC and anything that can be EPIC in a game should BUY OKAMI... either on PS2 or Wii... OKAMI.

But that game is confusing...and it will plant the seed of confusion into the mind of our beloved youngsters :)

I read this in the paper yesterday and it made me quite angry. So angry in fact that I just wrote to the charity that gave most of the quotes in the article, asking whether they had actually played the game. Write too! Their website is beatbullying.org
