As was rumored in December of last year, the pint-sized version of Ratchet & Clank is set to make the leap from the PlayStation Portable to the PlayStation Not Very Portable But Considerably More Lucrative. Though ongoing publisher trends suggests the journey to the PS2 is less of a leap and more of a thoughtless sleep rollover, Size Matters' transition had yet to be confirmed outside of a retailer listing.
Shacknews now reports that a recent PlayStation Underground e-mail confirmed the impending port, noting a March 2008 release. Though Sony hasn't officially announced it yet, it seems only prudent to place the game in as many hands as possible. Perhaps they'll even get Miyamoto to play this one.

Hey Cesaria, I'm not sure what you're talking about. Are you talking about how the PSP does not have exclusives or are you talking about how all of them seem to get ported over to the PS2?
In any case, the PSP does have some great exclusives that will (hopefully) not be ported so that the system can bring up sales some more.
One thing you can be sure of is that you'll probably never see Crisis Core on the PS2, as Square-Enix probably doesn't want to waste time porting a game that isn't yet considered as a 'classic'.

I know there are many great exclusive titles on the PSP. It seems a majority of the AAA titles eventually get ported to the PS2. In my mind, I think: "Why buy this game when it could potentially come out in a better version? I'll wait." I think it's a bad move.

Basically anyone who cared about this game already finished it also the new one is coming why not squeeze some juice out of it.

No they don't. They only cater to gamers that have a 360 shoved up their rear. Thoughtless sleep rollover? Right. The euphemisms and bias on this site will kill it in 2008. It is a damn smart move taking it to the PS2 but that is good for Sony and something Microstiq will never admit.
It is a good thing the petitions are now rolling to Stop Sony from giving this website any first looks at anything.

R+C:SM was amazing .. but too short for a full console release.
Why is Sony porting it to the PS2 anyways? they are eliminated ALL reasons to even get a PSP.

The funny thing is, most reasons to get a PSP aren't Sony's doing.

I believe Secret Agent Clank comes out on PSP soon. But it seems likely that if you wait another year after that, it'll come out on PS2 too.

Wait a whole year for a PSP game, seriously is people that desperate?
I mean is not like is Crysis which if it's never ported to a console in a year I might never play it ever because even if I get a computer in 2 years that can run it at full capacity I simply won’t give a damn by then, there probably going to be better games by then.
I bought F.E.A.R for a ridiculous price (It also included a Magazine and Demos) and I haven’t touched it because either I don’t have time to play it or I don’t feel like it.

The reason for getting a PSP is revealed in its name: Portable.
I have no interest in a PSP, but really, if people could play Gamecube ports on a DS, I don't think anyone would complain. Oh yeah, about that Gameboy Player thing...

I'm playing the R&C games from start to end, I'm up to R&C 3 (Up Your Arsenal).
I have to say WOW. Up Your Arsenal is fantastic. The first two were great, but this one is amazing. It's difficult to stop playing because you rarely find a little thing to push you to wanting to quit.
They smoothed the interface, tightened up the graphics (hehe) and the levels are amazing. Even the story is pretty good. The 2D platforming controls aren't great, but that's only like 30 minutes of the entire game, so no biggie.
Also, this 2004 game not only has the previously referenced spherical worlds. But it has special side accomplishments you can get called skill points (equivalent to achievements) but it also has trophies you pick up and are visible in a trophy room.
So even if these guys didn't give Miyamoto the idea for spherical worlds, they did invent achievements (in fact, back in Spyro the Dragon for PS1 they had them) and PS3 Home's trophies too (although they are earned by finding them, not special tricks).
Insomniac rocks.

Size Matters wasn't made by Insomniac, though. I heard it's still pretty good, but still...
And, yes, Up Your Arsenal is still the best R&C game, hands down. TOD lacked something in its controls, and the minigames were awful, even after turning off the motion sensor controls.

I personally didn't mind the motion-control minigames in "Tools." I thought the hacking was a more pleasant diversion than in Bioshock and the freefall sections were so short that they were over before you got bored or irritated with them...you know, sort of like the first Alien Vs. Predator movie.

I sort of agree with you, I never bought the PSP version because I really never gave a damn. Even less the PS2 version, I know is a good franchise and everything but I always see JAK 3 ,R&C up your arse-nal and Going commando in the bargain bin and that’s not a good sign for me.
I know the series are known for their humor, characters and everything but the gameplay just looks plain generic, I mean even Super Mario Galaxy wasn’t something I wanted to buy at first glance but at least retained it’s charm but R&C well what can I tell you isn’t something appealing and that’s when you know your Marketing department sucks.
I might rent it someday but right now I have tons of games to play. Basically is a bad moment to rent a game, unless is Avatar then I might play it 5 minutes for the achievements.

About the spherical worlds, Mechwarrior 2 had spherical worlds (or planets as they are called), one so small you can shoot an Arrow (large missile), and a few moments later, it would hit you in the back. So, Miyamoto, Insomniac, and Sega copied Activision. Do I get a cookie?
