Barring any major change out of spite that the rest of January's Rock Band downloadable songs were revealed last week, we're pretty confident that the Oasis Pack will hit the consoles on their respective days. As we still get asked this question, let's review DLC availability days: Rock Band DLC is Tuesday for Xbox 360 and Thursday for PS3. Don't look back in anger at us, those are the days chosen by the overlords. In honor of this week's Rock Band DLC please implement some over-the-top sibling rivalry before downloading and playing any of the songs.
Oasis Pack (440 MS points/ $5.50)
Don't Look Back in Anger (160 MS points/ $2)
Live Forever (160 MS points/ $2)
Wonderwall (160 MS Points / $2)
Check out our wonderwall of videos after the break in the hopes of making informed downloading decisions.
Anyways, 2 days is not much longer to wait. I like to be able to d/l stuff from the UK & Japan PSN stores as well. My "weekend" starts Thursdays anyways. (^.^)
Must you people turn everything into the tired XBOX 360 vs. PS3 fanboy food fight?
I own an XBOX 360. I also own a Wii, a PSP, and a PS2. And I will buy the PS3 when some of it's marquee titles come out.
Why you people loyally defend companies who make products and don't care about you, is beyond me. Every time I see Fernando Rocker blasting the PS3, or XanthouS slamming the XBOX 360, I cringe. Stop being children.
It has already been confirmed on the Rock Band forums a week ago and I quote
"Hey all,
We know all of you were super curious about the recent January-DLC information that surfaced. As previously reported, the Downloadable content for the weeks of January 22nd and January 29th are:
Week of January 22nd, 2008
Oasis Pack- - “Don’t Look Back in Anger” - “Live Forever” - “Wonderwall”
Week of January 29th, 2008
- “Siva”- by Smashing Pumpkins - “Working Man” as made famous by Rush - “Ten Speed (Of God’s Blood and Burial)” as made famous by Coheed and Cambria
The Oasis pack will be available as a pack for $5.49 (440 Microsoft points), or $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) for the individual tracks. Please note that the Week of January 29th is NOT a pack, as it was reported. These songs are only available individually.
We plan to continue posting each week's DLC every Monday starting again in February.
Enjoy! I hope you're looking forward to the DLC as much as I am -John __________________ Fun to watch... dangerous to touch!

See, here is the problem with that list you had. Songs in a game like his must usually be "hits" Not obscure songs only Oasis fans care about. Reasoning?
If they were the obscure songs you mentioned, only Oasis fans would buy them. So they'll sell maybe five copies. But if they go for the hits, people would be all like "Hey, I remember that song" and they'll buy it. It sucks but that's why I never expect Mad Capsule Markets to make a Rock band debut...
But man, I'd give my left leg for some violent femmes.
i totally agree with you sheppy. i think all 3 tracks hit number one on the charts at some point, so i can see where harmonix is coming from. being a big fan of oasis, i promised myself that i'd pick up rock band if a oasis song pack was released, but after seeing what they're offering, i'm going to hold on to the hope that maybe one day there will be a black rebel motorcycle club song pack...*sigh*
I thought "Champagne Supernova" would've been the obvious choice. They always play on the radio a cut version, but the full song is like 7:30. That would've been a must buy for me.
There are a lot of better songs they could have picked. No surprise they picked Wonderwall... that piece of crap... although I'm surprised they didn't also pick Champagne Supernova, their second most popular song. There are so many better songs that are less popular that they could have picked. O well. Oasis is finally in a rythm game, I'll settle.
Perhaps there will be more in due time. I also would've liked "Champagne Supernova" since I'm not a huge Oasis fan but I would have downloaded that and I will likely download "Wonderwall."
Like sheppy said, they gotta go with mainstream hits here and there because those are the ones the majority will buy.
Looking back, Oasis made some really crap videos. Either way, if you were a teenager in the 90's, I can't imagine you not eagerly looking forward to these songs.
Don't Look Back In Anger is a pretty good song, I'll be downloading it tomorrow. Wish they'd drop the prices down to .99c though, 2 dollars per song is a little steep in my opinion.
Also, as per usual, I'd prostitute myself to Harmonix for some Jimmy Eat World.
If Harmonix is going for popular songs (which is what I would do) then I think the pack would've been better with - Wonderwall - Champagne Supernova - Don't Go Away
