I would not purchase a system I knew had over a 50% failure rate. Easy as that. They fixed it? HIGHLY DOUBTFUL. They just added in a new way for the system to break down, so you will be forced to buy the next model (Xbox 1080) so they get more money. They realized they did not throw in an HDMI, so quickly they had to add one in? IDIOTS. That is all M$ is. They rush a crappy product through, just so they can squeeze for every penny. The rest of the world IS NOT buying their crap! Only America.

@ RRoD

What a clever moniker. Did you think that up all by yourself, or did a bunch of PS3 fanbots get together and brain storm that witty little diddy?

To begin with, people should enjoy the sytem(s) of their choosing. Nevertheless, I must take umbrage at your litany of claims.

Do you have a source, other than your ass, for the % of hardware failures for the xbox 360? (And, No; anecdotal evidence does not consitute fact or even a scientific approximation of fact.)

MS claims they have the problem fixed, you, on the other hand, claim otherwise. Do you, once again, have any basis for that claim other then channelling the gurgling sound that emanates from your lower orifice?

HDMI is POINTLESS for a system that was designed to play GAMES. Its selling point (non consumer friendly) is that it provides COPY PROTECTION for HD Movies. I do feel it was pointless to add it to the 360, however, I UNDERSTAND why MS did it, as it removes a bullet point from the Sony propoganda.

Surly you remember those heady days, as a PS3 Fanbot, when you erroneously claimed 360 users couldn't have a HD gaming experience without HDMI? Of course, that statement was factually incorrect, at best, and intellectually bankrupt, at worse.

As for what the rest of the world is buying, it's the Wii. The MS console, I believe, is still out selling the PS3 globally, unless you have facts to indicate otherwise. Regionally, the PS3 whips the 360 in Japan...much like what the 360 does to the PS3 here in the United States.

Now, what was your point again?

Knight Marquise you are a prime example of a brainwashed xbox fanboy idiot, and proved exactly what i said in my earlier post. You did not speak any facts or make any good points in your reply to me. Your a fanboy because your too broke to afford all the consoles so you have to convince yourself the one you have is superior. Me on the other hand, i own all three consoles so i'm able to make unbiased evaluations when it comes to the 3 consoles. What kind of lonely freak are you? You researched me and everything and looked up things i said on other sites, i'm a call the police on you, your a damn stalker.lol You didn't research good enough, because if you did you would of known that i have an xbox elite. So your PS3 fanbot claims are ridiculous, i'm a fan of games in general, especially the playstation brand. Stop making up excuses for MS, the 360 is a fucked up console. My Elite scratches the very few games i have for 360, i'm a probably get the rrod, but i don't play my 360 that often so i've been lucky. If it wasn't for Gears of War 2, i would have sold my 360 months ago.

lol @ "i'm a call the police on you"

you-a call the police? Are you Mario or something? ("It's a me!")

Any argument you have turns to shit because you don't know how to communicate like a human being. Learn to talk like a big boy, and get back to us with your debate when you're ready.

Take your time. I know literacy is a big step.

Oh, and by the way: It's "You're a damn stalker" not "your a damn stalker" and "You're too broke" not "your too broke."

You're like Biff from Back to the Future. You try to sound smart, but it just makes you sound even more stupid.

"I would have sold my 360 months ago"

So do it. Nobody's going to miss you on Live, that's for sure.

UK law states under the sales of goods act that you are entitled to a repair or replacement from the shop it was purchased if the device fails within it natural lifespan. If half the people in the uk just used their rights (go look em up). Dont let a store fob you off, it is the law.

Wonky360...

I don't live in the UK, so I am admittedly ignorant of your laws. I am curious, though. Who gets to define the "natural" lifespan of said device? The manufacture or the government?

wow. people seem to think that the 360 is only console that has had hardware problems.

My NES stopped reading cartridges after 2 months.

My brother in law's PS3 hard drive died causing him to send it back - he only had it for 3 months... barely played it.

There's a bunch of broken Wii videos online but noone seems to be shitting on that console.

Let's face it, there's more people online with the 360, there's more games out for the 360. If the 360 RROD problem was going to force anyone to go out and buy another console, why bother? MS is going to fix it for free and why pay more for a PS3 with a small library of games or pay less for a Wii for a library dominated by party/mini games?

They took a $1 billion dollar hit to fix/replace RROD 360s. Think about that for a second. Would SONY do that - if they had the same problem?

Doubtful.

Another 360 fanboy making up excuses for MS. No other console in history has messed up as much as the 360, or had a failure as high so give it up already. Go on youtube and look it up, on the morning news they reported that the 360 is the most faulty hardware product in American history. Don't be ignorant, the facts are the facts: 360 failure rate is 33%, PS3 and Wii failure rate less than 1%. You idiots praise MS for fixing them for free when you should already expect them to. MS is a greedy ass company, there's no way they would be fixing people's 360's if the failure rate wasn't so high. They know they would have a million fucking lawsuits if they didn't.LOL The whole point of buying games is to PLAY GAMES! If you have to keep sending your 360 to MS, then your not playing games.

Dude, efeez, it really seemes like you're just holding on to bitter memories. i dont think that anyone who is actually reading through these comments is oblivious to 360's bricking. mine did. it was error code 74. i even waited a year before getting mine in hopes that it would be an improved one. and as far as you having all three,.. i dont care. go have fun playing games, thats the same thing i do, just with one console and that suits me just fine. halo, ninja gaiden and forza and now oblivion; its why i have a 360. heavenly sword is really cool... but i think ninja gaiden 2 is going to be freakin amazing.

Obvious much? Who didn't think that MS rushed the 360 for a one-year lead? We all just hoped they could pull it off without any kinks.

And we all know how that went.

Yeah. Unsubstantiated rumor. As in "someone said it, but there's no proof."

Just like this one: Do you know the REAL reason why the Wii is so hard to find in stores?

It's because Nintendo of America executives take the time to *personally* stick each console's Wiimote up their asses before shipping to stores.

Nintendo won't comment on this rumor, but it COULD be true.

"New MO? Do we need to revisit windows Millenium? They have been doing this for a LONG time which is half of the reason so many people are against the 360. The Microsoft name is damaging the 360s reputation. If another company, just for arguments sake say Sega, was responcible for the 360 i think it would cut some of the fanboy talk out of both sides."

No, if any other company had done this then people would have been all up in arms and would have marched on the Microsoft campuses with torches demanding satisfaction. Yet for some reason nobody seems to care all that much when it comes to Microsoft because consoles are still selling like hotcakes every week. Any other manufacturer would be out of business right now because the customer would not stand for it. I'm just waiting for someone to take Microsoft to task for selling a defective product like they did. However, it seems like I just keep waiting and waiting and probably never will see the day that Microsoft makes this right.

Two years and two months, one rrod (for me), the best online gaming experience available (by FAR), and a guaranteed enormous catalog of games which may have not been there if Sony had launched their PS3 any time closer to Microsoft's release...

I'd say Microsoft did the right thing.

Remember Balmer's famous "Developers, developers, developers, developers..." --> Sony should have taken notes. Apparently the xbox 360 is much easier to develop for than the PS3, and now xbox 360 is the place to be for console gaming.

PS3's horsepower will catch up eventually, but because MS was first out the gate, Microsoft has proven this isn't like the HDDVD vs BluRay. There isn't one clear victor.

Thank the gods.
