"We just don't understand what kind of person got the first Lolo and was left clawing their skin for more."

Wow...people who are so passionate about video games, yet ignore the fun and innovation of such a great 8-bit classic. Come on guys.

There's no guns or murder in Adventures of Lolo. Based on the horrible "trying to hard" writing style on the site, these are probably kids whose first system was the Playstation.

Surely this Super Street Fighter II has accomplishments, as it's the only way I'm getting it; since I already have Street Fighter Anniversary Collection.

Yeah, I bought the original SF2 when it came out not thinking they'd release the later versions. What a load of crap...

Lest you forget, Justin, SSFII for the Virtual Console is currently the only version playable with a DECENT D-PAD!

Decent d-pad? Surely you aren't referring to the classic controller. I've been trying to play Guilty Gear XX Accent Core, and man...it's horrible. I love the general shape of the controller, but that d-pad simply isn't good.

The d-pad is good -- if you grind it flat. It did wonders for my fighting gaming.

Sure, but it's too bad you're getting the SNES version shoved down your throat. Great games back then, although after getting my hands on the perfect arcade ports, i can't go back to the ugly snes versions. Missing animations, sluggish gameplay and low quality sound? No thanks.

Actually the Wii classic controller D-pad is the best out there, the 360 and PS3 d-pad suck ass.

Sadly that’s the way we played them in the Snes so yeah I would pay for some Snes ports just for the nostalgia.

The Wii controllers are something that look flawless but in some games are sometimes unresponsive, I don't know why. I haven't seen any problem with the D-pad so far tho’.

The PS3's d-pad works just fine.

I won't. If I want it for nostalgia purposes, i'll grab the rom, or plug my snes back in. I still play the old SFII's, but i'll pass on playing the inferior version. I already dropped 70 dollars on SFII for the snes 15 years ago. That's enough from me.

I bought the first lolo one night and played it untill about 3 in the morning. i took a bout a months break and played the rest of the game non stop until I beat it...the only reason I didn't download a lolo 2 rom was cause I knew it would eventually come to the VC.

also, to refresh my memory...is there also a Super SF II turbo?

Yes there is, but not for the SNES. The only SNES Street Fighter left to rerelease on the VC is SF Alpha 2, I believe.

ssf2 and the first lolo were both more fun and less of a waste of time then reading anything you have written.

Wow, when did Adventures of Lolo become mediocre? I used to play it with my dad all the time when I was a kid, and I played it a few months back and it was still pretty enjoyable.

Heck yeah...Lolo was an excellent mind bender of a game. Pretty sure I played both 1 and 2 deeply.

The Lolo series is awesome. One of the best on the NES and a true puzzle genre classic. I implore anyone reading this that has a Wii and never played the Lolo series to give them a shot on the VC.

I've still got both Lolo 1 and 2 sitting around somewhere. Absolutely fantastic games. Some of the later puzzles are sooo mind bendingly hard, it's great that nowadays I can just look up the answer online (if I need to) rather than call the Nintendo hotline at $1.99 a minute (ask your parents first!)

In other news, my 360 just RROD'd about 10 minutes ago!

Super SFII on SNES is absolute shit. So far from arcade its not worth paying for. At least Turbo was pretty close, but then with Super they had to cut animations, the sprites for the original 12 were NOT redrawn (as you can see in the above video right away its the same Ryu sprite from the first 2 releases), and the sound is god awful.

Wait for the PSN or XBLA versions. what good is your d-pad if the game you play is crap? I'm getting stick for Xbox anyway...

Mr. McElroy....would that 'we' in ". We feel bad about it. We just don't understand what kind of person got the first Lolo and was left clawing their skin for more."...actually be an "I" in disguise? Or does every Joystiq staffer REALLY not 'get it'?

It's a tendency, at least on the joystiq family, for the blogger to speak like the borg.

Not a bad tendency, just an odd one
