I wasn't really interested in this game, but since it looked like it took you some time to write the interview I read it all.

Seems like a cool game, I hope they give you a free copy Sensei for promoting their game!

I loved the original. It was the first NES game I bought with my own money, too.

Great interview.

I'm actually wondering if they'll include the NES original in this as well? That would be really neat... but who knows.

Nice job Richard! I can tell you're excited about this game. I liked how you nailed him (okay, not too harsh) over no online co-op.

NBC, take note. We want a Bionic Commando television series not that recycled, cliched turd that is the new Bionic Woman series. Hitler on prime time national television? Yes please.

Rearmed looks like an awesome game can't wait till it's released, now they need to use this same engine and make a megaman game!

Since Inafune practically disconfirmed MegaMan I don't want to listen to them.

This game looks great.

I want to comment on what was said in the latest X3F Podcast about this game and the whole 2D-3D discussion that followed; it irks me when people use that inane "2.5-D" classification. I want to set it straight so that no one uses that expression again.

When you say "2.5-D", you're using one term to describe two different things: the gameplay, and the technological system employed to convey the gameplay data for the player to understand and react to (also known as graphics). Please, for my sanity, separate the two and describe them separately when warranted. What you're really trying to say is that Bionic Commando Rearmed, Super Smash Bros., Viewtiful Joe, Undertow and the like are all 2D games. Unrelated to that fact, they happen to use polygons to represent the gameplay's interactive ones and zeros, so you can say they have 3D graphics. There's a difference between what you see and what you interact with; the blind do not cease to exist. The example works in reverse, too, like in a traditionally-animated cartoon: the world of The Simpsons is, though imaginary, a three-dimensional world that happens to be conveyed using a series of flat, 2D images. You see what I'm trying to say?

A game's graphics and gameplay have only been linked together in the minds of gamers due to the impracticality of a trillion hand-drawn images conveying the near-infinite combinations of position, direction, objects, and stuff a modern shooter's gameplay can allow for, so polygons are used instead since 3D graphics are much more flexible than what was used before computers were able to handle them.

One more thing: did you see one of the bullet-points in the Bionic Commando Rearmed trailer was "2D gameplay"? It may take years yet, but the trend of viewing this as a feature and not a constriction will hopefully continue because I think a game can be fun either way and want to see every option open to developers.

Thanks for letting me rant this long... and sorry for ranting this long. Uh-oh, it's 2:30am. Signing off.
