"One click combat, endless drudging from place to place, quests involving killing X amount of monster Y for lazy stationary ... NPC 'Z.'"

Isn't that World of Warcraft, in a nutshell?

*ducks*

Seriously, though, "The Witcher" DOES suffer pacing problems and the grinding quests (like the above) are mostly side-quests.

What they did with the old NWN engine is unbelievable and Bioware/Obsidian should be licensing it back from them for NWN3 (I thought NWN2 was boring and had awful controls as well). People complained about loading times but, after the 1.2 patch, this game flies.

"The Witcher" handles a lot of fantasy conventions in a unique way and, for a first big title, I think CD Projekt did a kick ass job building a world that I want to spend time playing in.

I must be the only one who gets sick of seeing every single one of these show up in Joystiq news.

But, then again, it also seemed like I was the only one not complaining about the onslaught of Halo 3 news when that was hot.
