Apparently, despite our frequent doubting, Grand Theft Auto IV will be hitting the February to April target that Take-Two set when the game was delayed last year, if only just barely. The game has now been slated to drop on April 29th.
If you've checked out the multitude of previews that dropped this week, you'd know that game is looking really, really awesome, so we're counting on Rockstar to hit its date this time around. What more is there to say, really? GTA IV. April 29. We're there.

I mean, I still personally don't think Okami will sell any better on the "Wii Sports Machine" than it did on the "Grand Theft Auto/Madden" machine. I'll be buying another copy, but I don't think a ton of other people will.

Mainly because they want to positio themselves AROUND GTA so the game doesn't go unoticed.
For example: Killzone 2, Prototype, Haze(lol), Duke Nukem (lolzerdragon), Alan wake (new ip), LBP(yeah!)....etc.etc.
While all of those are not even the same genre, they WILL BE affected by its presence. My theory for this is similar to the HALO EFFECT and it's called the GRAND THEFT EFFECT! (lol)

This game will be awesome but I doubt it will be GOTY. But like an earlier poster said its gonna sell ridiculously well. Especially on the 360 most likely.
I don't know if I should Pre-Order DMC 4 though...something tells me that it should be easy to walk in and buy a copy. But hey I could be wrong.

I preo-order my first special edition of any game. I think is worth it. Besides I want that license plate that Amazon is throwing in on the deal.
I just keep loving my 360 more every day.

Which brings me to my point. Every year, the game publishers make us languish for the 1st 3 quarters of the year only to inundate us with a tidal wave of games in the 4th quarter. It looks like this year will be the 1st year of BIG coming out in all 4 quarters. All of the game delays that we have been experiencing have actually benefited us as gamers. NOW we will have a plethora of AAA titles to play throughout the entire calendar year.
Let us gamers SHOW the publishers that this is the right thing to do. Show them that by spacing out the big titles over the year is a better strategy than to throw everything out in November. Now, each game can stand out more on its own, and hopefully each game will sell more.
I know I will be able to buy more of the games I want instead of having to chose 1 over the other.
2008 is going to be an incredible year for games on all 3 consoles and in my opinion....especially the PS3.

Bigger than halo 3? Hmmm.. Eventually yes because its multiplaform. But I dont think it is going to outsell what halo3 did in a week or maybe not even in the first month. After that, yes it will surpass it but not for a while. I am sure about that. Halo fans are more rabid than GTA fans
