S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky – GCS Game World's prequel to their long-in-development and
well-received "survival FPS"
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. – will be available for digital distribution exclusively on Steam, where the original game is available for a reasonable $20. If you're not into getting your games virtually, it will still be available in stores on the very same day "later this year." Now the question is whether or not "later this year" falls within the estimated Q1 release; considering the original's six year development cycle and their
other ongoing projects, we're not placing any bets.

In before people bitch about how horrible the first one was. I liked it at least, and I can't wait for this one.

Who would bitch that it was horrible? It was a spectacular and amazing game that unfortunately to this day suffers from a number of bugs that make the experience far less enjoyable (if not unplayable) than it should be. Also it was only 40 dollars brand new on day one, which is always a plus.

Absolutely amazing game, despite the numerous bugs. Can't wait. I'll still pass on purchasing it through Steam, though. I feel old saying this, but I still like to have a physical copy of the games I purchase. A CD or DVD that I know will be there still 10 years later.

i'll definitely be buying it. STALKER was buggy, but one of the best games I played last summer.. if they learned from their mistakes, Clear Sky should be outstanding.

There were a lot of things i thought would have worked better if done differently, but it was still a lot of fun. Those first few gun battles were extremely tense and it sucked me in. They just need to polish the hell out of the engine and utilizing hardware.

Its a brilliant game.
In fact its so good, it inspired a few friends and I to visit the zone of alienation in Autumn.
I'm not joking.

I've been dying to try STALKER

STALKER is a Marmite game. Those who could look passed it's flaws loved it. Those who couldn't, couldn't stand it!
Me, I could forgive the slightly dodgy gun play, the map boundarys and the game-braking mission structure, for those times you get caught in a thunderstorm with the lights down and the surround sound system cranked up high! Fucking epic!
fischju @ Jan 24th 2008 11:08PM
STALKER was awesome. So grey and depressing - the mutants are very scary, it's a sandbox FPS RPG - how many of those are out? And it turned me onto Roadside Picnic and the movie Stalker - both very good.
Geist @ Jan 25th 2008 3:25AM
Damn...the first time I saw the mutants, in some underground industrial area...I was scared shitless, waiting for them.

I'm finally loving STALKER. It was mean until i went from 1gb ram to 2gb now it's great and i'll be sure to pick up this one :D
ZippyDSMlee @ Jan 25th 2008 2:39AM
why dis D2D its better than the bloatware known as steam.
I refuse to by any game that requires the net to unlock to in single player mode, screw that BS...witch I did buy sadly(BS=bioshock=sht)......

One of the most underrated games ever. Or atleast underplayed. The expansion sounds really good.
SeriousKriss @ Jan 25th 2008 4:39AM
More STALKER is great news. Despite its flaws, I think the original game was the best single player FPS of 2007.
James @ Jan 25th 2008 8:46AM
Loved the first one. I wasn't a fan of the ridiculously low weight limit so I downloaded a mod to increase it, but still awesome none the less. I hope they put some multiplayer in it. Not a deathmatch but a co-op!
Shawn @ Jan 25th 2008 1:08PM
If I could pre-load Clear Sky right now on STEAM I would. Can't friggin wait for this one, loved the first.
