That's great and all from a creativity standpoint, but how about charging for it so the creator can get a portion of the proceeds??? Maybe I'm too much of a capitalist...

Yes, you are (and I say that as somebody who has seriously considered getting a Regan tattoo). It was a contest put together specifically to give the community a free trinket. IF they released a "critter editor" toolset to the community, and let people come up with new Folk to sell to each other, that would be incredibly awesome (c.f. the UT3 toolset), but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Yes, you are. It's an opportunity for an aspiring artist to get his work seen by people on a large scale.

Shut up.

I like the idea of downloading new folk that gamers created for free. The creator gets recognition for the work he/she did by having it included as offical DLC.

Gamers will eventually get turned off if every addon for a game had a price tag to it. We're already seeing the effects of this for games like Motorstorm, where gamers are charged $2 USD for per car instead of a nice low price for a the entire set of addons. I like Motorstorm, but charging 2 bucks per car when there are like 8 new cars that are nothing more than visuals is a bit much.

Yeah, I hear ya...I have held off on buying Motorstorm for just that reason. I'm hoping that a "Deluxe Add-on Pack" will eventually be available for it. So far Sony has only done that for a crap game: "Blast Factor."

A big congrats out to Uridicy. That's a cool-looking folk.

As to you aaron - think about it, it is unlikely that they would share revenue with a contest winner if they did charge for it. Besides, as an aspiring game artist, im sure Uridicy is just happy to be getting some acknowledgment.

im really curious as to how much the folklore DLC is selling. it seems like there is a ton of it. not sure how the value is on it either. anyone want to comment? is the new content worth the price?

I have Folklore and i love that there is alot of extra content for the game, a few free and the rest very inexpensive. Having a character in a game that you designed must be a great feeling. It would be good if some sort of feature were to be added into HOME and in the developer sections of HOME people could submit their designs.

I have Folklore and all of the addons available on PSN so far. It's a good game and brings me back to playing it everytime new stuff comes out for it.

Well, after using Quasarilli in battle, I think it is an awesome folk. Congratulations Udicry. It's pretty powerful and can cover a nice amount of area. Also, if you unlock its karma, you can launch a barrage of Quasarilli and really kick some netherwold butt.

I am very happy with the support Folklore has been getting. The DLC is really well priced too.

One last thing, is it me or was there some depth of field trickery added in one of the updates? It seems like the Faery realm looks even more beautiful now for some strange reason.
