And perhaps you should read some Mark Twain once in a while :) It's a fairly common colloquialism.

Ugh. Sorry for knowing how to spell. We should just get rid of editors and allow colloquialisms and slang to run rampant. Write free or think hard.

I'm sorry, but if you really love language, then slang and colloquialisms are just as important as knowing proper spelling and grammar. I'm a huge fan of the English language and its ability to change and adapt over time. Now, don't get me wrong, the thought of IM speech creeping into everyday life scares me on an Orwellian level.

However, to deny slang and colloquialisms denies precisely what makes English malleable and wonderful. Hell, Shakespeare invented thousands of words that we still use today. And frankly, vittles is more fun to say, not to mention more appetizing. Just say it out loud: vittles. See? It's fun!

Wooo! Finally something in Oklahoma! But really, Tulsa's hour drive from OKC is just a little too far to drive drunk. Not that I condone drunk driving. Maybe it's just a little too far to walk home drunk. There we go.

HAHAHAHA! Vittles no less! I admit (not often though) my great grandma was from OK and she used the word vittles time and again. You are such a redneck. :)

Sounds like fun, but one question... Why won't you be wearing a officially licensed X3F shirt? What's with all this Bungie.net nonsense? Even if it required making it with a sharpie, I think it's required.

...why Oklahoma? I realize that it's relatively in the center of the country but seriously, nobody's going to be flying to this thing. Next time put it in a big city like New York or Chicago.

Ummm ... because I live here, and that's where I'll be this Sunday. Your other option is Minnesota, because that's where Dustin lives. If you think Weblogs (i.e. AOL) is sending us anywhere just for a reader meetup, you're dreaming :)

Now, if you can convince them to send us to Chicago or New York, I'll be there with bells on :)
