Gird your loins, because the McFarlane Toys line of Halo 3 action figures is on its way. Still due to drop in March, the snazzy-looking collectibles have already gone through packaging design, and X3F has collected some photos of what to look out for on retail shelves.
With war-torn backdrops, and minimalistic packaging (except for the bizarre "Cortana LIGHTS UP!" sticker), these designs were clearly made to show off the figures, and for good reason. We might just pick up a few Spartan soldiers for ourselves, to re-enact our favorite Halo 3 multiplayer moments.

Does anybody really buy these and play with them? They seem cool, but I'd rather just have a statue. Seems more fitting to the game.

Merchandising, merchandising, where the real money from the game is made. Halo-the T-shirt, Halo-the Coloring Book, Halo-the Lunch box, Halo-the Breakfast Cereal, Halo-the Flame Thrower.
The kids love this one.

I don't know of anyone who "plays" with them, unless they're the Halo ActionClix...
But I have a few of the old spartan action figures, and they hang out on the shelves of my game and DVD collection. I've gotten a few compliments on them, and I enjoy looking at them or putting them next to my computer monitor sometimes, so they're pretty cool.
Also, some people have made some pretty cool/funny stop motion videos with the action figures, so that's cool.

What the hell is the difference between "Master Chief" and the oh-so generic "Spartan Soldier"? Why don't they just call him "White Master Chief?"...it's a race thing isn't it. Cause then we'd have to have a "Black Master Chief" and a "Yellow Master Chief".

I melted down my Big Daddy and made my own Chief. Unfortunately he's only the size of a Grunt. lol

The statue thingies are great...Incredibly detailed and large...Those are something I'd consider purchasing to make my workspace all the more kooler :3
But this? Nah, perhaps these will replace the wrestling toys that I used to play with for the current generation. But for me? No thanks...

I can just imagine some of you playing with these on the floor, lmao, or creating a shrine in a room dedicated to plastic toys like some of the Marvel and other comic book fans :)
