According to Nintendo financial documents, "social networking MMO" Animal Crossing and a new Kirby title will hit the Japanese Wii this year, along with some other notable titles. ShackNews posted the Nintendo financial docs showing that beyond Animal Crossing and Kirby, there is also Wii Music, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Super Mario Stadium Family Baseball, and Everyone's Common Knowledge Television -- that last one sounds like it might stay in Japan.
The document also shows that Mario Kart Wii is still expected for the spring in North America and Q2 for Europe, but there isn't much more beyond that at this time. That doesn't mean Nintendo doesn't have something up its sleeve, just that it isn't on this financial document from Nintendo Japan.

As the eternal band geek that I am, I've been waiting for Wii Music FOREVER (I get my jollys from conducting)
Also, nice to see Disaster still seems to exist

Those two, along with Project: H.A.M.M.E.R., were the titles that most intrigued me most back at E3 '06. Two outta three ain't bad.

Another games that will sell a lot more than third parties titles...
Why? Because they are actually good games. And with a lot of advertise.

There are good third party games on the Wii. But no one buys a Wii with those titles in mind...

Dear God, finally. The first day I head about the Wii, I knew someday I would be swinging the shovel and fishing pole around with motion controls.
Fuck. Yes.

and by this year, they mean next year right? i have to admit even though they do ALWAYS deliver good games after the delays, they certainly need a DelayStation type name as well lol. Wii're Waiting? no? ok.

oh yea, and i would love to have a new Animal Crossing game. heres to hoping they make it more free roaming MMO than friend code debacle. not really sure how they could do it though with all the sexual predators out there that they are so afraid of.
a new Kirby would be great too as long as they dont make it gimmicky.

I just hope they don't fuck it up, you know? I hope you can talk to other players freely. And that it isn't as difficult to go to other player's towns as the DS version was. Ugh, that was terrible!
But I do understand Nintendo's reasoning behind limiting voice chat. That way my eight year old daughter doesn't get called a "Fucking n00b lol" every time she logs on. Hopefully you'll at least be able to talk to your registered friends.

yea i think that being able to talk to your registered friends would be a lot better than not being able to talk to anyone at all. i use my bluetooth headset online for my PS3 all the time, and honestly, i only use it to listen to whats going on while keeping the profanity laced rants from blarring out of my TV speakers. so that said, i rarely actually talk to many people i dont know. i may talk to a couple people in my squad or what not to tell them to stop being idiots cause their holding everyone up and giving away our position but that's about it. i wouldnt mind just talking to people on my friends list at all since this game wont be as reliant on immediate communication as a life or death type deal.
one of the best examples of voice chat ever lol:

I'd rather have a system where you can visit other people's villages, but just their villages. P2P interaction could be reserved for lobbies and friends, but you could still just hit "go" and it would randomly pick a village that someone has allowed randoms to visit. Take things and add things, but not in a way that would allow vandalism.

Who wants a "challenging" Animal Crossing? That's kinda completely not what that game is about.

I want Disaster! For the love of God let me stop terrorists during a slew of natural disasters! This game sounds like the love child of Die Hard and The Day After Tomorrow, which incidentally would be the only way that The Day After Tomorrow could be considered even halfway decent.

Animal Crossing has been expected. One of the first previews of the Wii Message Board they showed utilized messages from a Wii Animal Crossing
Kirby Wii is a surprise, though, since they confirmed it to be a dead project a while back
Good to see Disaster's still on track

Animal Crossing = Meh.
Kirby = Meh.
Super Mario = Meh.
Mario Kart = Meh.
Baseball = Meh to the extreme.
The only title I'm looking forward to out of that list is Wii Music. I don't know anything about Disaster, so I'll have to look that one up.

Why do you have a Wii if Mario is "Meh".
A new full console Kirby game, sweet.

Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to like Mario just because you like Nintendo.
The only Nintendo software I buy is Pokemon, Zelda and the Wii Sports/Play/Chess/Fit series.

Mario isn't really a casual icon.. he's not that well known outside games circles.. not like say, lara croft, who's had lots of mainstream coverage.
I'm actually pretty surprised at how well MarioGalaxy has sold, as I didn't think it'd appeal to the main Wii Audience. (which is very different to previous nintendo audiences...)

Animal Crossing Wii is gonna sell like hotcakes in Japan.
Every time I get on a train here you can guarantee there will be at least 6 people playing on a DS.. and at least half will be women playing Animal Crossing.
COme to think of it, i'm not sure i've ever seen a Japanese woman play any game except Animal Crossing.

I have to say that all of these games sound pretty cool to me. They just all appeal to so well. I happen to more of a Kirby kind of person. And with the title Animal Crossing, it kind of sounds like a frogger kind of game which is one game that i was completely addicted to in my video gaming days. I'm also excited for Wii Music becaues I am just a great fan of all music and play a few instruments myself. And well, I'm not so sure about the Disaster game, but I'm not saying that I won't give it a try. And finally, The Super Mario Baseball I'm excited for just because I happen to also be a great Super Mario fan. And I am quite sure that if the television game were up to date with American shows that I know I would be pretty good at that too. All of these games are high on my list of things to look into!
