Wow, looks like a cartoony higher-resolution version of Civilization 1... especially the terrain tiles

An Urgent Message from your game buying Advisor......

what the hell is on the bottom screen....i would feel like my DS just got herpes........then i wouldnt be able to engage in contact with it........not like contact(the game) was anything to exciting......I have never played a Civ game and maybe shouldnt be bashing on it........but this probably wont hold anything to my new founf love, Advanced Wars

I don't think it looks all THAT bad. But as someone pointed out, as long as the gameplay is there I'm not too partial to how the graphix look.

This is my problem with people in the gaming media you all love advance wars but will judge a game which has equal if not superior visuals on that alone.

It would seem to me that the problem isn't the graphics resolution (aka pixels), but that the problem is how clustered the game feels. AW does not feel nearly this cramped and thrown together. But then again, this game is still in development.

My problem is that I've played Civ & am a fan of the series and would like to see justice done to it on the DS. This, my friend, is not justice.

The graphics are, in my opinion, not as good as AW because they don't fit together properly (the terrain tiles and the units look like they're from two totally different games), and it's a total mishmash. Frankly, no one's bashing the game on that alone. They're saying it needs work before release. Doesn't seem like condemnation at all.

It looks workable, if not a little clustered.

I honestly wouldn't mind if they just remade Civilization II for the DS instead.

I can see they've retained the cultural influence borders from Civ 4. Not a huge fan of the cut-away battle scene, hope that can be disabled for brevity's sake.
echo frederik's sentiments - I'd have been happy with Civ 2 (though Civ 2 with cultural influence from Civ 4 would be fine). It looks far too cluttered with the oversized unit sprites.

I'm a huge Civ fan, and was looking forward to the DS and 360 versions of it. The DS graphics are a bit disappointing though, they look like a kid drew them. Still, the gameplay will probably make up for it but I wish they improve them before release.
