Majesco releases early version of Eco-Creatures as DS download
With a healthy collection of casual DS favorites to its credit, the once financially gridlocked publisher Majesco has much thanks to lay at the feet of Nintendo's touchable portable. Now the company has announced that it plans to give players an early taste of its latest project, a tree-hugging RTS for the DS, by releasing a demo for Eco-Creatures: Save the Forest over nearly 10,000 Nintendo DS Download Stations across the U.S. It's unclear how much of the game will be included in the demo, or if in fact this move will save any trees at all. What we do know, however, is that the download will be available from now until sometime in May – well beyond the game's expected March 4 release -- giving those of you with access to a station plenty of time to warm up to Majesco's green-minded ways.

Maybe if more publishers actually took advantage of this great way to get people playing demos, this wouldn't be such a big deal (is it a big deal?).
With the DS's massive install base, you KNOW the majority of DS owners probably do not even have any idea that downloading demos is even possible, let alone where to do it and why/how. Publishers should be partnering up with Toys R Us, Target, Gamestop, etc. to mention available demo downloads in TV spots and news ads. Then it would still get bodies into the door of the stores, but people would get the hang of how to get demos, and use download stations in general.

Its free!
It could turn out to be a decent game.
Its free!
Its a pity they aren't offering this elsewhere ie the UK, or for download to the Wii (to put onto DS) via the internet. It could attract a bigger user base that way.

I care about this game, it looks fun.
Of course I did enjoy Pikmin, and we won't be getting that on the DS anytime soon. So this will have to do.

The cuteness of the creatures appeal to me.
