Gaming peripheral maker Nyko today announced an adapter that promises to cut the cord on your existing wired Wii Nunchuks (metaphorically, of course). Not to be confused with the standalone wireless Nunchuk Nyko announced last month, the new adapter will connect to an existing wired Nunchuk, allowing it to communicate with a Wii remote up to 15 feet away (handy for people with a 15-foot wingspan!).
Don't worry about the Nunchuk cord drooping limply across your leg either -- according to the release, the adapter comes with a "self-standing Nunchuk sleeve" that has "a convenient compact cord management system keeping the existing Nunchuk cord organized and out of site [sic]."
The adapter, including two required AAA batteries, will retail for $19.99, making it $10 less than Nyko's standalone wireless Nunchuk (though the whole package is $10 more when combined with a $20 wired Nunchuk). Wire-hating gamers who already own four Nunchuks might want to look for it in February.

I hope that that little thing at the bottom where you put the wire is smaller than it looks in that picture.

I don't think it's fugly. It's unattractive, but it's not the worst peripheral for a console I've ever seen.

what a great idea. Sure it does not look the best, but It does the job and makes it wireless. Why nintendo chose to use a wire is beyond me. I know it was for cost reasons but who cares. most people could of bought the original 360 core with a wired controller, but no1 wants that crap. we live in the wireless age now. Good job nyko

oh I forgot to mention however that its priced much to high. Your better off buying the standalone nyko wireless nunchuck and selling your wired nunchuck on ebay or an online forum. Even if you only get $10 for your nunchuck yous till made back the price difference

I never really had much of a problem with the wired-ness. I do have a problem with buying a chunky peripheral for the purpose of wireless "freedom." If the wires bothered you, how can you not be bothered by something jutting out of your nunchuck and making it all clunky?

This will be great once they come out with just a wireless classic controller. Same adapter as for their other wireless chuck thing, but instead of the nunchuck, its the classic.
Personal opinion.

i have long arms, so i cant stretch them out all the way when playing Wii and sometimes the cord does bitch slap me when im really into a game but i never thought it was that bad that it would need to be wireless. that said, i think this is a great idea for a peripheral but its a little too late for me since ive already gotten used to the wired iteration.

At first glance I thought you said
'Does that ever look wired'
upon further investigation, I concur and give +1

I like it. Hopefully, it will give you a more balanced feeling when playing WiiSports Boxing.
The one thing it seems Nyko has overlooked is the new rubber Wiimote covers that Nintendo is shipping with every controller. I hope the Nyko piece that plugs into the bottom of the Wiimote will fit.

They aren't really "nunchucks" without the cord, are they? They would be more like Wii Filipino Fighting Stick controllers or something.
I suppose that's too pedantic.

+1 for reminding me a cordless nunchuk is not a nunchuk at all.

Ugh, that looks horrible. Is it really so bad to have the cord there? I have never found it to be in the way or to be a problem whatsoever

I would get this for $10 but not $20.
It would be easier to sell my current nunchucks for $10, then use the money to buy the wireless ones for $30 at the same net cost.

Doesn't look like there's an attachment for safety straps. Granted I don't plan on needing one, but i'm sure others with broken tv's didn't either

Gentlemen Behold...crap
Lol J/K Nyko devices are not bad but well I'm not quite sure how end the phrase but I guess is the most reliable 3rd party out there.
Well it looks awful,it could be really akward to use and also couldn't that cause a delay in the response of the controller?

I know most people don't see the necessity for a wireless nunchuck, and frankly neither do I. On that note, having one of these babies could make a round of Super Mario Galaxy a very... ahem... interesting multiplayer experience. Think Katamari multiplayer with Goombas :P

New, from Nyko! Folks, rid yourself the bulk and inconvenience of a wire with the bulk and inconvenience of a dongle and wire wrap!

I'd have given them a nobel prize if they'd somehow designed it to be compatible with the Classic controller too.

There is no need for a wireless nunchuck, it just wastes batteries.
