People really need to buy this game. Xseed is about the only company left localizing PSP rpgs (other than Squenix, presumably) so supporting them is the only short we have of seeing any future RPGs (again, other than Squenix stuff)

Yeah the same people who have custom firmwares and destroys any hope of a PSP game making the top 20?

Anyways, was anybody else a little turned off by the 50 hour mark IF you only do story. I'm picking this up either way but thats still a lot of hours.

I really like how the PSP has become the place for strategy RPG's. I have played Wild Arms in the past so I think this game should be good too.

I know it has nothing to do with this but all I need now is Ogre Battles from Atlus then I would be really happy.

My problem with this game (and all games like it, such as Final Fantasy) is the graphics. I never have liked the 'cute' figures on the screen, the overall cartoony look. If these games looked more like D&D Tactics (which looked fantastic even if people weren't so keen on how it played) then I would be interested in playing them, as it is I'm not...

Maybe it's my age showing through (I am in my early thirties), but even when I was much younger, and Final Fantasy was coming out, I hated the look then too.

Wow, you and I are polar opposites. I really hate the look of western games and I blame Western dev's for this rush towards realism in games which (IMO) has destroyed a lot of the more fun things in games and taken away that element of imagination.

BUT, to each his own. If you don't t like the look of it, then don't play it ;)

@Jeremy: Atlus, NISA, and Namco Bandai are still doing it. While Namco Bandai is not as good at localizing as the other three.

@Joe: Square-Enix owns that IP and the team that made it.

@Duffski: I think that's has to do with where a game is developed. In the West we tend to go for realism, because that is what we like here. In the East they go for an anime look, for that is what they like over there.

I really want this game, even though I have a feeling that every reviewer is going to trash it.

Thanks for the info I knew Atlus brought it to the US. But I never knew it was SE's IP. So thanks for that info. Know I guess I hope FFT sold so then SE can make a new one or remake.

Atlus really hasn't supported the PSP much. Jewel Summoner, but that was only because it was from the Persona guy; and Riviera, but they had already translated it once. We might see Yggdra Union from them (since like Riviera, they have the translation), but I doubt anything else, they seem to be focusing on the DS.

Bandai used to be pretty good, they brought over the 3 Legend of Heroes games at least, albeit with bad translations. But Namco has only done Radiant Mythology, and I doubt they will do any more in the future given the apparently poor sales of it (and since the only new PSP RPGs from them are ports, as well).

NISA also seems to have stopped supporting the PSP, focusing on the PS2 and DS. Granted, all their games but Disgaea pretty much sucked (since they were all from Idea Factory), but still they were something.

Anyway, out of all the companies that had put out PSP RPGs in the past, only Xseed (and Squenix w/ Crisis Core) have any games announced as upcoming. If the other companies were still supporting it, surely they would have announced some titles by now.

I'll be on the edge of my seat until this releases stateside. i've been loving the recent surge of strategy games for the PSP and can't wait to add Wild Arms to my collection. Love the 2D graphics and really excited that it's a long game. I'm not the kind that can be satisfied with short games, but to have over a hundred hours of content!? That's amazing.
