With the revamped version of Turok apparently not shipping out until next week, you still have a little time to decide if you're going to be able to take the dino-killing brute back into your life. Now, you non-PS3 gamers have been given the tools to do so, with the demo for the game arriving on Xbox Live Marketplace. You PS3 players have already had the chance to take it for a spin.
So, here's what we need to know: What's the verdict? Are you going to be able to give Turok another chance to win you over? Or is the new effort too little too late?

Finally,
the US has a Demo of this game...right Justin? lol
Maybe the Demo is better than PSN's demo? Maybe they gave us few PS3 owners an inferior version? Maybe they took long to bring out the 360 demo to polish it more because of the North American 360 install base is so vast?
Maybe...just maybe.
Conspiracy?

That picture actually makes it look interesting. Interestingly enough, it is not even remotely interesting.

The Turok demo is garbage.
You get chucked into a cave with no light. I couldn't even tell where the floor was for several minutes. Eventually, while running around blindly, you spot a few pixels of light and move towards them. Wash, rinse, repeat. After 20 minutes of this I quit and deleted the demo.
I hope whoever chose the demo level gets his ass fired.

u hit the nail on head. i was running around for like 5 minutes trying to figure out where the hell i was. that was a terrible choice for a demo level. i felt like Ray Charles (rest his soul). i killed like 2 dinos, rolled around on my back for a while, quit the demo and promptly deleted it while swearing to myself.

Uh, fans of the franchise? Turok kicks ass, and as long as the gameplay is solid, it will be fun for those who don't particularly ejaculate in their pants for a riveting story line.
People are far too critical of games these days.

I see creatures come back from the Ice Age

I played the PS3 version, and same thing with me. Got stuck in the cave running around endlessly and died a couple times trying to figure out the arrow thing (is it useless or is it just that I dont know how to use it?).
Although I sucked it up and gave it another try. I actually got passed the cave - and then I got to the forrested areas, killed some people and then got lost again. And then I gave up lol.
They need that CoD4 objective compass thing.

They picked the worst level for the demo. It was too dark to even play. And am I the only one getting tired of the Unreal III character models? They just look so roided up.

I am. There are other engines out there besides Unreal Tech. Hell, you can count on one hand how many Source games there are that Valve didn't develop.
Man, I remember the days when for engine licensing it was either id's Q3A engine, or the original Unreal engine.

I tend to subscribe to the Burnout theory of franchise games... Every other sucks eggs..
The N64 Version was amazing, Turok Evolution was horrible, hopefully this game will do the series justice.
Plus, i'm a sucker for Comic Book heros like Turok.
I reserved the game as soon as I heard it was coming out, the demo was a freaking disapointment, but it can't be that bad... right?
:\

Talking about Comic book superheroes,Do you think we'll ever see a new Comix Zone or Vectorman game?

You *reserved* Turok? Do you like giving away interest on your hard earn money to mutlimillion and billion dollar corporations to hold onto a game for you that you'll be able to buy at any Wal-Mart and/or Target within a 100 mile radius? While I am staunchy philosophically opposed to reserving games, that oppositions redlines when it comes to games that a) kinda suck and b) you'll be able to buy anywhere on date of launch. I'm not calling you a sucker, but there's definitely one of you born every minute.

demo wasnt anything to talk about. Played and and never played it twice. Its just another shooter. All these FPS are getting old really fast. Im like damn one comes out each week it seems like and none of them are any better than COD4. So why buy this other crap just get COD4 or wait for Rainbow six vegas 2.

The demo, and I'm thinking the game, sucks ass. You move slower than my grandma, and the dinosaurs don't react to bullets until they're dead. I thought we had advanced past the point of Doom 1, no? When I shoot something, especially a raptor coming at me fast to kill me, I would hope that some of my shots would slow it down...nope. Ammo is a problem, too, and the sneaking part is completely broken.

Note to the guy who thought a good way to show off your game was in complete, inky blackness: You were wrong.

I think like the comic this Turok franchise should just stay as a memory of what games where like in the previous generation of consoles. To me this game suffers from the same disease that Blacksite Area 51 suffers from and that is called Samegameidous. Its boring and adds nothing new from fps stand point. Not to say the game is bad its just not worth $60 maybe when it hits the bargain bins at $30 or less I might be interested. Maybe.

Absolutely loved the first Turok on the 64. It was great running around in the split-screen multiplayer with an arrow coming out of your chest in first person view.
This demo is god-awful. 360 owners haven't been missing a thing.

i played it waiting hours as you know how long PSN takes, and it was just useless running around to find yourself stuck at a pond with nothing to kill, it's too slow it would be compared to the pace of Call of Duty 4 if you were in crouch mode...it's terrible the only cool thing might have been when you stab a dinosaur with your knife but other than that...that repeats itself.

You know you have problems when the best weapon you have is your knife.
It's not bad, but in a saturated FPS market, "not bad" just won't cut it.

You would think that publishers would learn not to release demos of bad games. It kills any chance at sales they might have had.

Or, you'd think they would at least learn to release the funnest part of the game as the demo, making people foolishly think the entire game is like that.
...Or maybe they did?

After reading all your comments about how much this game sucks I normally would be tempted to taste the may0r suckage and download the demo but I just finished Assassins’ creed (Not entirely since there are 6 achievements left but not even achievements can make play that awful game again so let’s say I completed it because that’s all I can take) and after watching the hideous and most anti-climatic ending ever I feel like kicking kittens and punching grandmas so I guess I wont play it.
