With the revamped version of Turok apparently not shipping out until next week, you still have a little time to decide if you're going to be able to take the dino-killing brute back into your life. Now, you non-PS3 gamers have been given the tools to do so, with the demo for the game arriving on Xbox Live Marketplace. You PS3 players have already had the chance to take it for a spin.
So, here's what we need to know: What's the verdict? Are you going to be able to give Turok another chance to win you over? Or is the new effort too little too late?

I hope you are not talking about Assassin's Creed.
Because that game was awsome. If you think Assassin's Creed sucks mayor ass, then there is something very wrong with you man.
Everyone that I know that have played it has loved it. You sir, should stop gaming and do something else, Because something is just not right.

I'm with you, Mr. ESC.
Assassin's Creed wasn't craptastic for me or anything, but it just lacked whatever a game lacks to get me feeling "involved" in the game. Almost felt like for the first hour I was watching a movie, what with all the dialog. Not to mention the fact that Altaire sounded like some tween from the 90's that was entirely out-of-place in the medieval setting. I'm all for a good story, but please, let me play a game without an hour of tedium, tutorials, and terrible acting to kick off the experience for a bad first impression.
Bottom line: To each his own. Some of my friends didn't enjoy the game either...all that bought the game outright so far (5, including myself) have traded it in or returned it for something else the next day.
Bottom Bottom Line: You can pretty much tell from the comments that you won't enjoy this demo. Goodbye Turok, we knew thee a long time ago, but we duck out of the game store when we see your latest monstrosity calling to us.

Cyro maybe your copy of ass creed included a naked picture of Jade or I'm just immune to the effects of the fruit because Ass creed was lackluster.
The story itself had the chance to save the game from it’s repetitive gameplay and dullness but the Sci-Fi lemon twist pretty much screwed that, I mean seriously the ending was awful it pretty much says "buyz teh @ss cr33ds 2"
Ass creed is pretty much like this
Take the pc version of Halo 2 without knowing is Halo 2 I mean forget about the existence of the first Halo or Halo 3, just do it. Play the first 3 missions over and over six times and then get to the awful cliffhanger ending. There Assassins’ creed.
I can do a complete list of things that bothered me, so I will
1. The limited edition is lackluster
2. The gameplay gave me a bad first impression but it gets better, then it gets awfully repetitive.
3. The chores before every assassination are dull.
4. The enemy AI is quite weird, sometimes you can slaughter any member of any enemy patrol and then after you lost them you can walk in front of them without any of them notice you, is like if the medieval guards had memory issues of something.
5. Is hardly a stealth game.
6. The graphics are beautiful but sometimes there was a frame rate issue plus several glitches, nothing mayor and sometimes fun but quite weird.
7. The side quests such as collecting flags and killing templar’s are just awful
8. And the ending was outrageously bad. I mean it doesn’t solve anything what the hell?
Now to be fair the good parts:
1. The Assassination is well its satisfactory.
2. Running from the guards is always entertaining
3. The leapt of faith are awesome
4. Sometimes the combat is entertaining
5. The virtual scenery is just plain beautiful
6. And if you successfully ignore the bad sci-fi side of the story the main story is actually interesting.
7. Oh and the Altair figurine is actually nice.
Now is not a completely piece of trash, sometimes is good. sometimes but Ubisoft attitude of “lets make this a franchise even if its good or bad” pissed me off I mean is like Midway decided to explode Blacksite 51 with T-shirts, guides, lunch boxes and stuff.
In the end AC is not a bad game….entirely, but is hardly a game I would consider playing again, I missed 6 achievements but I simply don't care.

Am I the only one here with a Silver XBL membership? It says the demo is only for gold members :(.

Where is the Turok game where you get to play the dino? I liked playing as the raptor on the Genesis.

PS3 got something first cool. But bad demo. I spent about 10 mins in that stupid cave...

It's really a shame this demo exists. The final game is leagues better --- lots of open-area combat and much better firefights than this awful level provides.
Why they decided to use the cave to show off this game boggles my mind. They'd have been better off not releasing any demo at all.

yeah, I'm staying with Halo3, CoD4, BioShock and GoldenEye (N64) for my FPS...

The framerates were absolutely killing me... quite literally. Two close dinos on the screen with my buddy in the cave and the game starts to stutter. I am trying to whip around or move away, and I finally realized that if you keep the camera in focus on only one dino and nothing else, you can keep playing... otherwise it starts to flip out on my console.

The demo does suck, but it doesn't give me much hope for the game either, even once you get out of the caves. I was running around knifing everybody and everything. One-hit kills abound. Fun for the first few minuets, then just boring.
The demo was pretty long, though. Is that common nowadays? If so, then GOOD.

Turok Dev 1: You know, I'm just not sure about this anymore. Our FPS is like every other FPS made since 1998!
Dev 2: Yeah, I hear you. We need something to spice it up. Something like...DINOSAURS!
Dev 1: Uh, we have those already.
Dev 2: Well then let's just stick them in a cave so they can't see shit. That's original, right?

I actually liked the PS3 demo... I admit to some disappointment with the quality of the graphics: the hyped to death Unreal Engine was used... gee, was it the first one? the ps3 can do much, much better than what I saw here. that being said, it was fun to play through the demo, especially using the knife as your main weapon. Is it sloppy? yep. Is it the visual powerhouse it really needs to be/ Nope. Are the little dinos that stand there until you walk up and knife them demonstrating really poor AI routines? yep. But you know what, it was still fun. I will likely not buy it until I see it used, but it's nice to know in 2 or three months I'll score a really fun game for around $30.
