Hmm, yeah definitely unspectacular. My question is why they released this footage? Isn't it risky to show gameplay from early in the game's development? Or is the game further along than I thought, making this doubly unimpressive?

I think it's great it reminds me of several games I played in the past (In a good way like MechWarrior for the synthetic voice and a game I'm not sure if it was Lone Wolf .Moon Wolf .Moon base or something but it was good too)

I don’t know I never played the RTS but I will keep an eye on this.

Its not an rts, its an fps. IF there is no squad based combat, and its just a regular fps game, the C&C name is wasted.

I predict: Mediocre fps with reviews in the 7's.

Cool gun. Also interesting that they were able to implement sticky cover mechanics from a first-person perspective.

But the graphics are WEAK SAUCE. The left arm looks like it's made of up up approximately 9 polygons. Though this is obviously a work in progress, it's probably just going to be another generic fps, trying to bank off a marketable franchise. Sad to see.

It's a funny design choice to have that hugeass ammo counter on that gun magically bobbing into your face.

how about when the gun transforms and begins firing glowing mouse cursors for a funny design choice.

Graphics aside, it seems like it will play well. I get an eerie Battlezone 2 feeling from this video. Hopefully it's similar to that feel when actually playing, and then adds it's own flare.

Will be keeping an eye on this one.... the brown eye.

Well, that was thoroughly unimpressive...

First of all the graphics are mediocre, a lot of the textures are bland and grey and all the enemies (I am assuming they were Scrin) looked exactly the same.

The main character looks so floaty too except when he is sprinting, otherwise he just looks like he is moving around without any legs.

The guns look really cool and powerful, but when they fire them they sound cap guns. Make the weapons sound powerful and loud, I don't want to feel like I am firing a pellet gun when I am playing a FPS.

Lastly the enemy AI looked pretty dumb, just blindly running at you with no regard at all for its own health, it definitely did not look challenging at all.

All in all it looks like another average mediocre FPS.

Yea but if they are going to show off a demo video, they should expect criticism.

If your product isn't ready to be shown to the public, don't show it.

This reminds me a lot of Republic Commandos for some reason. It is not as pretty as they were making it out to be, but I'm certainly interested after seeing that. Looks good I think.

But Republic Commando was awesome. I liked the gameplay, that was one of the first team-based shooters i played.
The player graphics (not the scenery) here look like the old C&C FPS (Renegade). The characters need some meat on their bones.

Actually, I enjoyed RC. It really needed to be balanced better difficulty wise, but I did enjoy it. My comment was only to say the gameplay and the look of everything remind me of that old game. Not making a judgement about quality.

I dig the transforming gun, along with modular upgrades. Always made more sense to me than carrying an invisible giant backpack full of guns. This game will make or break it for me soon as I see some serious NOD action.

I'll say it--I miss Renegade multi. And having C&C removed from the title of this game for the sake of removing it from its RTS roots saddens me.

Is this a going to include any RTS elements? It seemed like the video hinted at being able to order more troops/combat units/whatever, which would add a really cool aspect to the game. Instead of having a small squad for small situations like in R6V, you could have a disposable, refillable squad to take on enormous battles, and then order up the optimal unit for each situation, having them airlifted in. If that's what this game has, which would be a pretty new direction to take, I'd definitely be interested in it.

Also, is this coming to consoles?

well those guns are top notch, i will say that. im a sucker for futuristic guns anyway though.

the graphics are unimpressive but i do realize that it is an early build so there is room for improvement there.

the animations are terrible, everything is choppy and everything has the same exact animations going on. but again, it is early.

the gameplay itself looks like an utter snoozefest. there is barely anything going on. he has so much time to aim his shot and stuff. any other FPS, he would have been shot like 20 times before he got a shot off.

so im hoping this is a VERY early build cause this game looks like it could be good with those crazy guns they have there and everything else that's wrong with it is fixable before a release. im not excited about it at all yet, but ill keep an eye on this one cause that could change.

Still, what ever happened to the Red Alert Universe? Wasn't or isn't there a RA3 in development somewhere?

Looks like a bastard child of Republic Commando and Halo.

And does it hurt to give us some Nod footage? I know C&C now has an alien faction, but fighting just aliens won't be as cool or original as shooting some Nod soldiers in the head.

Some people wanted to see the RTS to FPS translation attempt, and see where it could be taken (ie: Starcraft - Ghost).

This, however, does not fall into that parameter. I would categorize this as Star Wars: Republic Commando 2 - We Don't Have A LucasFilm License.

I'll be honest I've not followed Tiberium, nor played any of the RTS games, but this actually looked quite impressive to me! The weapons seemed really unique and looked as if they required some tactical aptitude to use effectively.

I'll be watching this game closer now...

I guess those are Titans that are walking around? I didn't play C&C3.
They look a bit odd, and not nearly colourful enough; where's the non-greyscale love?

I'm sure the Scrin looked good as teeny units, but in an FPS it just looks like he's fighting the Battlezone army.

To the people saying the graphics look bad, I say take a second look...and see that while they are terrible, it looks to be mostly bad art assets, but the engine seems quite capable of good graphical effects. Meaning better models and textures or possibly custom art by the community (I hope it never comes to relying on that) could bring things up to par quite easily.

It looks pretty nice for being so early, but that gun wobbles around too damn much. That thing flopping around all over the place is pretty damn distracting.

YAY! Another mediocre FPS to go in the mediocre stash that most people with any knowledge wouldn't buy! Unless your really craving some FPS then you may choose something from the pile. As long as you've finished with the great ones beforehand.
