Oops: Euro Katamari demo for Xbox Live Silver members only

Boyd assures us that the situation will soon be resolved (maybe it already is), meaning, Gold members will get the exclusive access they've been promised, and Silver members will be back on the outside looking in. But, for the moment, all you freeloaders should revel in this brief episode of trading places.

Beautiful Katamari was fun while it lasted, but after I beat it I had no desire to back and do anything else, or get any of the achievements, let alone buy and download new planets. The PS2 versions are more fun, imho.

Right now it sits collecting dust, since it's not worth much for a trade-in... in the event that i do a big trade, it's gone though.

but i thought when you got gold, you automatically get silver too... so whats the problem?

People get Gold memberships for one reason: to play Halo online. That's not exactly Katamari's target audience, so why make the demo exclusive to Gold members?
The only thing that restricting Silver access to demos does is piss off casual gamers who has no interest in playing online against foul-mouthed adolescents, but might otherwise like to download demos. It's become very clear that Microsoft bends over backwards to cater to hardcore gamers and doesn't give a sh*t about casual gamers.

Wow, I can just as easily not play online for free with PSN as I can pay $50 to not play online.

yeah, I'm thinking that too. I haven't really played online in forever, and most of the people I WANT to play with are either never on, or don't have internet.
I figure though my brother will be getting internet just about a week after I decide to cancel, so there's that keeping me subscribed, because just like the vista ultimate extras, I don't see any Gold "perks" either.
