Pretty cool, I'm excited about the new Metallica and Nine Inch Nails.

I just really wish they'd add some songs that are current. As much as I hate Nickleback, they're the only big group I can think of as an example.

I'm sure you could think of a lot better than Nickelback if you thought just a moment longer. Talk about horrible stuff there. I still have a track on my PC that a friend sent... it has two of their tracks played atop one another, sounding and ending almost exactly the damn same. x_x

Wouldn't mind getting a Dethklok or Static-X track though...

Hey now, Nickelback used to be awesome. It's just their new stuff (Silver Side Up and later) that sucks. I would love to have their song "Curb" on Rock Band, or a handful of other choices from their first two albums.

They would only have to release one Nickleback song, as they are all essentially the same.

It took a moment('cause I was laughing at booticon's hilarious response... +1 for him); but here's the songs by the aforementioned that I would like to see on ROCK BAND:

DETHKLOK ... "Hatredcopter", "Dethecution(Let the Dying Begin)", "Duncan Hills"
STATIC X ... "Fix", "Dirthouse", "Ostego Undead"

And as an added bonus, I'd like a special DLC track of "I'm Just a Rock 'n' Roll Clown" by Dr. Rockso.

This is probably not the time, nor the thread to mention this, but when Harmonix said they were going to have more gamer culture related songs (like the halo them on GH3), I immediately thought of how cool it would be to have "Number One" from the Bleach soundtrack as DLC.

Fan-freaking-tastic. This is why I don't like knowing tracks ahead of time, I've gotta wait two months to belt out the lyrics to Fuel? Argh! ;)

NIN pack is awesome. Skynyrd is awesome. Sabbath is awesome.

But yeah, how 'bout Feb?

That said, The Collector? Seriously? Why?

Still, I'll pick it up the second it's out.

That's the beauty of Rock Band DLC, it appeals to a large variety of tastes. I don't particularly like some of the DLC out there, but I'm glad it is there, because surely others will enjoy it.

I don't have an issue with Rock Band appealing to a large variety of tastes. However, well over half of these songs are from bands which already have at least one track (usually more) available in Rock Band. I wouldn't call that appealing to a large variety of tastes, I would call it appealing to the tastes of your current audience.

I was fairly impressed with the variety and selection of tracks that came with Rock Band, but the DLC seems to be rehashing the same musical groups over and over again.

Finally, some good music.

There's still no way in hell I'd pay that much for a game. And then people keep spending money on it from DLC.

I don't like NIN that much either but Fernando, just STFU, there's people who do like NIN.

And to clarify, NIN was influenced by Skinny Puppy, Ministry and The Young Gods, to the point that Down With It is waaay too close to Skinny Puppy's Dig It.

BTW, why not Entombed instead? Left Hand Path, To Ride Shoot Straight and Tell The Truth or Chaos Breed would be awesome songs to play along to

it really isn't waiting to attack him, especially when he basically disses a band that is extremely popular, and has been around since the time period he says Trent Reznor wasn't around creating what is now NIN. But yes we do wait to attack sometimes, mainly because he does the same with Sony articles and commentors

"Simple Man" is the only song on this list that excites me.

I'm really surprised they haven't put up any big-time US 80s-90s indie-rock stuff. I'd think there'd definitely be a market for Pavement / Sonic Youth / Dinosaur Jr-type stuff among Rock Band's user base. Playing along to Husker Du's "Celebrated Summer" would be awesome.

well, it's not my fave song in the album but it's their single and most known song, so it makes sense. Funny one of the other songs is from The Haunted, which guitarrists were former At the Gates members, i guess there's a fan of them at EA or something hehe

Not bad. Where's Feb's lineup?

Incubus, Lenny Kravitz, Journey (not weak sauce "any way you want it" Journey), Hendrix, Linkin Park, Santana. That is what I need.

Can't wait for more bands to see the revenue possibilities, hopefully they already have given DLC is selling.

NIN - March of the Pigs
Awesome. I'll buy all of the Nine Inch Nails stuff.

Iron Maiden - Wrathchild
Would be awesome, but it's a cover. Hopefully it's better than the terrible GH Rocks the 80's version.

Metallica - Fuel
Wow, they managed to find one of the few Metallica songs (besides all of St. Anger) that I won't buy. This game makes you look dumb enough in the first place, throwing this P.O.S. track in there with its ultra-lame lyrics and dull, repetitive guitar part will only excite the most easily amused Metallica fan. There are a few decent tracks on Load/Reload, but I don't trust the devs to pick them out. They need to stick with the Black Album and prior.

Anyway, I'm glad to see they are keeping up the variety rather than focusing on one or two types of music. At the Gates is a nice surprise.

I have just recently played rock band and I have to tell you that it was more fun than I ever thought it would be. I was surprised at how well I knew most of the songs even though I did not try to tackle the microphone. I stick to the guitar and the drums and messing up on both of those is almost as half as fun as getting 100%. I was excited to see the big song choices that they had to offer in the game. The upcoming songs too look very good as well. I can’t wait until they come out so I can play them! I am definitely excited for Simple Man and Message in a Bottle.. I am a big fan of the Police and Lynyrd Skynyrd! I must admit thought that I agree with a few of the previous comments, I hope they do come out with some more recent songs.

Nickleback was never awesome. Why is this band popular someone tell me, please? Their sad excuse for so called "Post Grunge". But in reality they're not grunge. They're a subgenre of rock known as "Nu-Metal". Usually Loved by pre-teens, Lead singer Chad is an extremely nasal "Marlboro Man" type vocalist who sounds constipated on a permanent basis. Guitar consists mostly of easy-to-play power chords that give the band a "tough" sound to the untrained ear, but a closer look reveals a band that has nothing to offer creatively. Also there two hit singles, "How You Remind Me" and "Someday", sound nearly identical when played simultaneously.

I admire your attempt to be elitest, but Nu-metal has nothing to do with a band just being lame or commercial.

Nu-metal in it's original definition, was stuck to bands with vocal styles infused with hip-hop/rap flavors, along with a mixture of instrument styles that Nickleback doesn't even embody.

Few pop/commercial rock bands even fit the genre, but since people seem to relate "nu" with nub/noob, the border was blurred. I'd say Linkin Park is the biggest band that actually fits the bill, along with early Korn, Limp Bikzit, early Deftones, System of a Down, P.O.D. and others.

The "genre" itself is sorta dead, with very few of those existing bands even following their original sound.

The more you know.
