Oh, and just to be annoying, my list of artists I want to see the most would be...

Testament (newer stuff...late 90's and beyond)
Alice in Chains
Prince ("YEEEEOW!")
Type O Negative (match the lowest notes on Peter's voice for a bonus multiplier?)

The thrash pack...wow...I want to know how the hell the drum charts will work out for those songs.

Either way, unless the Maiden and Sabbath covers suck I'll be buying every song in the month of March.

NIN is hack. Reznor has lost it. First few albums were good but the rest is rubbish. Also I am no longer a sexually frustrated teenager.

SUPERNAUT...

"I've seen the future and I've left it behind"

I'll be singing Ozzy, but I'll be thinking of the Ministry version though...

Nice to see the Sabbath on there, even though we only get covers, but why not get more interesting and put some Dio-era Sabbath 'Mob Rules' in the place?

I think because that song is the only one most people would know! huge sabbath fan but not so much with Dio. They could pretend that never happened and just jump straight to Blizzard of oz and Diary and i'd be content.

I had only barely considered buying DLC ever. With the addition of the NIN songs, I'm definately gonna be buying me some points.

Now, the only way they could get me to buy some DLC sooner is if they put out NIN - Wish and/or Vitas - Opera #2 (lol) for Feb.

Hell yeah! It's about time Rock Band got some METAL in the mix! Never heard Evile, but At the Gates and The Haunted are/were two GREAT bands.

Truth be told, I NEED to see some more actual progressive metal/rock on here. A ton of Rush is cool, but heavier stuff like Dream Theater, Into Eternity or the all mighty Opeth would be even better. Think of the technicality involved. The switches in not only the guitar/drum lines, but in the case of Opeth or Into Eternity, the vocals pitch-shifting from growls to screams to clear melodic. As a vocalist, I can tell you, it's not as easy as it seems to do that and still remain on pitch...

got several problems with this list.

1) Aren't we passed the point where we're bombarded with covers?? No more iron maiden covers please, they're terribly done.

2) Fuel....really?? There's an ocean of great Metallica songs and Fuel is picked? WTF

3) That "thrash" pack is not thrash, more death metal than anything. Yes it does matter, one genre (thrash) has spawned some of the best rock bands in history like Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer and Testament while the other genre has produced no legendary bands. Also, thrash died in the very early 90s when most of the bands changed their sounds.

Since I used to play in Death Metal bands in the early 90's I find your statement a bit funny... Thrash spawned some awesome bands (Anthrax, Forbidden, Testament and Coroner come to mind not Metallica or Megadeth but that's personal preference) but Death Metal not only spawned some MASSIVELY Classic bands (Death, Entombed, Carcass, Benediction) but is also still a relevant genre today and Thrash has all but been forgotten about except for the classic bands.

yes i know death metal is still around, hardly relevant though. Death metal's never had a commercially successful band unless you want to say Slayer, but they're thrash. Those bands you listed are not commercially successful, maybe popular on the death metal scene but since death metal has never had mainstream success they are not commercially successful.

And yes metallica and megadeth are (actually were would be a better term) thrash. There's a term called the big four of thrash that includes those two, anthrax and slayer. The term mostly represents the popularity those 4 bands achieved and not necessarily the "best" thrash bands ever, although they didn't get huge success from sucking.

Actually to be honest, the new Megadeth albums "United Abominations" is actually pretty thrashy and to its roots. Metallica, bah they will never be the same.

And am I the only one really excited Haunted is on here? Because the guitar and bass player from that band are the same ones in At the Gates, just FYI.

When Rock Band came out and I heard they were doing full albums (where ARE those full albums, by the way?) I had a fantasy that The Cult's 'Electric' would someday be one of them.

Since this thread has once again gone all "fantasy time," I think there should be some Queen, Cure, Prince, Elvis Costello, Supergrass, Stone Roses, Pulp, Motley Crüe, Guns 'n' Roses, Judas Priest, and Foreigner on there. And more Rush, Oasis, Clash, and Ramones.

I never understood why Black album Metalllica gets so much hate. Yes, their albums and songs after Black don't compare to tracks such as Sandman or Puppets, but most of the old skool Metallica fans treat songs like Fuel as if it were the damn plague.

I actually like most of Reload, which is the album that "Fuel" is on...I just despise that particular song. I've taken to starting Reload at track #2 any time I listen to the album...I can at least tolerate if not enjoy everything else on the album.

I have to agree with some of the people here about the music that not only comes with these games but also about the songs that are DLC. I like all these bands that are getting new songs but I would like to see something different for once. I mean, Black Sabbath, NIN, Metallica...these are all bands that already have songs out not just for Rock Band, but for just about every guitar hero too.
Give me some NEW bands that have good stuff too. Crossfade, 311, Limp Bizkit (fuck you, you know you liked Nookie when it came out), Staind, Incubus (Stellar cover sucked and its prolly one of their "less better" songs compared to their other stuff)...I mean, I could go on for hours. And I wouldn't say that NIN sucks...but they're definitely not AS GOOD as everyone thinks. Same with bands like Nirvana, they're good but they're not the best and definitely over-rated. Bash me if you want but I know I'm just saying something that alot of people would probably agree with.

I'll definitely get the misnamed Thrash pack. At The Gates and Haunted are not thrash, melodic death metal they are. However Haunted does borrow alot from Slayer.

I'm really surprised that Evile is on that list. Great UK thrash band.

The songs for Rock Band are really coming together niceley. But how's "Blinded by fear" supposed to work with the Rock Band drums? There's quite a few double bass parts in that song. Does the Rock Band drumset have a second pedal (haven't bought the game yet)?

I'm happy to be getting some more NIN since I love playing The Hand That Feeds, but I'd love to see The Roots get a song or two in the game. "The Seed 2.0" would be an absolutely great addition to the game with great vocals, a decent guitar solo, good bass, and drum tracks. Come on Harmonix, The Roots are the only hip-hop group that exclusively use a live band. Also some more Beasty Boys "Fight For Your Right To Party" would be great.

I don't mind metal for varity, but metal is really hard on drums. "Blackened" on hard difficulty is harder than 1/2 the songs on expert. And "Run For the Hills" is rediculous.
