Oh yeah Einstein? No games can be played from the SD card...so it's worthless in that regard.

That is going to change... I'm sure that Nintendo will do something near the launch of WiiWare...

sorry Fernando, but didn't Nintendo already shut down the idea of a HDD for the Wii?

but then again, they are the same people (I was going to say asses, but Fernando will be pissed) that said that there wouldn't be a redesign for the DS, and then the next day they announced the DS Lite...so with Nintendo, you never know....

WiiWare is looking fucking good!

Indie developers are very creatives... this and World of Goo are day 1 purchase to me... same with Final Fantasy.

And at only $5 dlls!

You know, I hate to shatter this illussion but Indie developers CAN be very creative, they aren't always. In fact, it's rare that they are. Indie Developers are just as prone to following a herd as other developers. After all, one of the first indie developer trends were cloning arcade games (tetris, pacman). Nowadays the current trend is all the new damn match 3 titles.

By the way... there is no size limit... I read on a WiiWare game developer interview that Nintendo has not put restrictions regarding size, or even prices. The developers can put the price that they want. Look at the Final Fantasy game... it cant be a 40MB game.

And the policy of just one game per month is good too. Less shovelware.

I've heard that 40MB is merely "recommended" and not at all required (FFCC: The Little King, as you said, comes to mind), but devs who make a bigger game will obviously have a smaller audience of people with the right amount of space

However, I doubt this game is over 150 MB anymore, reducing everything down to 640x480 will really cut it back, which is probably why they made the transition

Mr Khan

Tehy only need to allow play directly from a SD card... a 2 GB or a 4GB card is more than enough... you just leave the card inside the Wii and done.

Its very convenient even for games like Rock Band... the DLC songs stored o the SD card and done...

We just have to wait to the GDC to see what will Nintendo do. There still a lot of things that Nintendo needs to do, like release the DS Download Station channel.

Besides, people keep saying: "But Nintendo only has SSBB and Mario Kart and thats it... Sony haz teh gamez this year" But you have to understand something: the PS3 games are game that have been announced since last years, even since 2006!

So, do you think Nintendo will keep without doing anything? Of course not... There are still a lot of games and Nintendo franchises that still need to be relased.

You are talking about the same people who can't get MP3 playback and the Photo channel to both work...so I wouldn't bet on that one...

"Its very convenient even for games like Rock Band... the DLC songs stored o the SD card and done..."

mmm...well, I don't think companies, especially EA, will allow DLC to be stored on a "oh so easy to swap" SD card... I ll wait and see in that regards.

"We just have to wait to the GDC to see what will Nintendo do. There still a lot of things that Nintendo needs to do, like release the DS Download Station channel."

Well Fernando, with that last annoouncement of Strikers and it being supposed to be Nintendo's great entrance into the Online Community...well...you saw how that went, so really, lately I just try not to care/excite much about Nintendo's announcements until I see them in action.

"Besides, people keep saying: "But Nintendo only has SSBB and Mario Kart and thats it... Sony haz teh gamez this year" But you have to understand something: the PS3 games are game that have been announced since last years, even since 2006!"

Yes, their titles have been announced since 2006, but the difference is that Sony KEEPS announcing more titles, I know that Nintendo has never been that open about their projects, but hey, it wouldn't hurt to at least hint to what they are doing...

"So, do you think Nintendo will keep without doing anything? Of course not... There are still a lot of games and Nintendo franchises that still need to be relased."

DK
Mario Kart
Mario Tennis
Mario Baseball
Mario Golf
SSBB
Animal Crossing
Kirby
Star Fox

Those are the franchises yet to be released on the Wii, I don't think that's a lot Fernando, more so when Nintendo's games are the ones that shine the most on their console....

Noshino, you forgot about the new ip's they are working on (hopefully not a lie), some new casual stuff like wiifit (coming to the states), Custom Robo, Pikmin, F-Zero, the new Factor-5 game, (maybe) a Kid Icarus game.
And I think the newer 3rd party stuff has been improving and stuff like Okami (yes I know it's a port), No More Heroes and Square will definitely get something on it as well.

The Wii could have been so much MORE if they had simply added a hard drive to the system.

50G...hell even 20G would have been decent. Just enough to open a whole new world of possibilities when it comes to game size, online, DLC, etc...

I mean the Wii is selling pretty hot right now and shows no sign of slowing down so I'm guessing lots of people are happy with their purchase. But I can't help but wonder just how much better the Wii could have been.

As for this game it looks very creative and original so I'm glad its coming to WiiWare.

Atleast now we won't have to decipher some archaic point system to figure out how much the game actually costs.

Looks really cool btw.

If this goes for $5, I think they'll wind up making VC games seem like a bad value (which in many cases they are, but...). Who wants to pay $5 for Double Dribble when you can get this for the same?

So he canceled it on XBLA because of the 150MB limit, and is now bringing it to WiiWare (despite a rumored 40MB limit).

Why not bring it to PSN where there is no size limit?

The 40MB is not true... let me find the interview (I don't remember very well to wich developer they interviewed), and they said that Nintendo doesn't have a size limit.

In fact, Nintendo is not putting prices either. Is all about the developer.

Just watch the WiiWare Final Fantasy title... there is no way that that title is only 40MB.

Ah, and they will not put this game on the PSN, simple because it will be not as profitable as the WiiWare version.

Whatever, $5 sounds good for a game like this. It'll give me something to do after beating Super C for the 1,000,000th time.

If the gameplay footage posted a few months ago is still relevant, then this game is the exact opposite of what Nintendo has been trying to achieve. All graphics, no gameplay.

Seriously... watch the footage, then tell me the game is a must-have.

When the game is a a mixture of good graphics and fun game play people say it is crap look at NMH and reviews. When the games graphics looks great and the game play is ok it is still crap, me thinks that people will just complain about the Wii because it is popular to do.

Notice how they won't let it pass the realm of 7. It is fun for these review sites to say one thing about nintendo then when it produces cry another. I am not saying NMH isn't doing well but people will continue to complain about the WII and graphics and game play till the system's sequel.

$5 is a great value, I just don't see it actually happening. The VC is cash cow for Nintendo, and if cool-looking games like this start popping up for the same price as NES games, Nintendo stands to lose some major money while people are "comparison shopping" on the VC.

Going from 720p to 480p reduces your texture size by 62% - not far off what Joystiq speculated was required but still not enough to squeeze it in to 40MB.
