Eternity's Child, Luc Bernard's stylish platformer, began life as an XBLA title, moved to the Nintendo systems as of last September, and is now apparently going to be released for Wii Ware later this year. Normally, this would be cause for standing ovations and general joy, but in this particular case? We're scratching our heads a little. Initially, the title was apparently shifted away from the Xbox download service due to the restrictions on the size of downloads. Wii Ware, however, boasts an even lower cap for downloads, so we can't help but wonder what happened to the game. It still looks good -- as you can see from our gallery -- so did the finished game end up being much smaller? Is it simplified? We can't help our curiosity.
Right now, Eternity's Child is slated for Q2, at the unbeatable price of $5.

That 40MB cap was a rumor, and proven false by Nintendo. Nintendo isn't setting a strict limit for download sizes.

I hope it plays as good as it looks.

Yeah, what Undead Priest (cool name) said. Nintendo said they'll encourage devs to keep the games small but aren't putting a cap on it. You really think FFCC Little King would've be under 40 MB?

Also, obviously, textures for a 480p game are much smaller than textures for a 1080p game, so they're probably saving a ton of space that way.

Hopefully they fix the jumping mechanic from the mobile version.

I'm with JH on this, lack of HD should shrink it considerably.
But the good news for me is more WW games, finally a use for those wii points :D

I always thought this game looked lovely, but I must admit as a full-priced release I probably wasn't gonna put out the cash for it. Now that it's $5 (which will mean under £3 in the UK, which is great) I'll almost definitely be downloading this.
Really looking forward to WiiWare if it brings us more original games like this!
