New details for Blue Dragon DS, due out this summer
Last month, publisher AQ Interactive confirmed that Blue Dragon Plus for the Nintendo DS had been delayed, but that it would be coming this summer. Translations from the publisher's official BDP site (via NeoGAF) indicate the game is set to be a "simulation RPG." The description and subsequent new screenshots remind us of Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (not a bad comparison, mind you). The site also seems to indicate that BDP takes place just after the events of the first Blue Dragon. So with a bold-faced spoiler alert we caution you against clicking on the main website as, once it loads, it gives away a big part of the Xbox 360 version's storyline. Same warning goes for the gallery below.

Fernando: Amazing! I will buy. This game is sure to sell great because it is being released on a Nintendo platform. All things Nintendo are god. I have a secret shrine to Miyamoto in my closet. He is sexy. Please pay attention to me and my broken English! No? you wont? *insert comment about delayed ps3 game* Now? No? *insert comment about how I hope Sony fails*
I figured I would just sum up the entire comments section on this one and save everyone the trouble. Its funny at first Fernando, but really? Your tired old arguments and fan boy loyalties wear thin really quick. We get it. You like Nintendo. Yes I own a Wii, a DS, a 360, a PS3, and a PSP. I don't want any of them to fail because guess what? I like GAMES. Not the system they're on or the company that made them, the GAME. If all you want to play is the same old rehash of a 20 year old franchise from the big N, have fun. The rest of us will be off enjoying all good games, not just Zelda 298: Link breaks out of the retirement home to rescue Zelda from the grim reaper!
Now with that said, seems like a cool game. I didn't get a chance to play the 360 BD, so this might be fun to check out.

Wow that's a lot of barely relevant hate.
Anam @ Feb 1st 2008 5:33PM
You know, as much as Fernando's Ninteno spam bugs me, your mocking spam isn't much better, and now I'll probably have to see it twice when Fernando gets on this thread...
makishima @ Feb 1st 2008 5:35PM
Its not hate but I do see how it comes off a little harsh. I just wish he would stop constantly singing Nintendo's praises here, and do it over on the Wiifanboy threads instead. I will admit he has gotten a little better about it as of late, but really I just wish he would tone it down a little bit on the site that encompasses all gaming, not just the Wii or DS.
Anam @ Feb 1st 2008 5:36PM
Also, Fernando's "broken" English is twice as good as most native English speakers on the internet.
makishima @ Feb 1st 2008 5:37PM
@Anam How is mine spam? This is the first time I have said anything about it. Now you could argue trolling true, and again this was not meant in a hateful way but its really friggen annoying and I felt the need to say something.
makishima @ Feb 1st 2008 5:41PM
@Anam And yes about the broken English, you are totally correct. I do applaud him on his English abilities. Especially compared to those of most people who post on these sites. That was more a "heat of the moment" kind of thing and I apologize to Fernando if it offended him.

Sounds like someone didn't get his morning Cheeeeerios!
Trickob @ Feb 1st 2008 5:22PM
this looks, potentially, really freaking cool
paragraph @ Feb 1st 2008 5:26PM
Key Word: Potentially
I'm sceptical about any Handheld RPG... i've played all of them allready, i really need something more than "Find the monster, kill the monster, level up, repeat" and "Kill the really bad guy"
:\
Sure, it's nitpicky, but i'm tired of all of the similer titles out there... give me some interesting mechanic and i'll love it, leave it out, and i'll shun it.
Geist @ Feb 1st 2008 6:09PM
Paragraph: You're really describing 90% of RPGs out there. 98% if we're talking JRPGs. I have calculated this using science.
Trickob @ Feb 1st 2008 7:16PM
here comes SCIENCE!!
paragraph, have you played "disgaea: afternoon of darkness?" (psp) its a port, but a truly kick-ass game with an interesting storyline
Shimrra @ Feb 1st 2008 5:24PM
The game looks very appealing so hopefully it will play as good as it looks.
why not the LS2/LS7? @ Feb 1st 2008 5:27PM
What is this for Blue Dragon is just a Dragon Quest knockoff, just for a platform that never had (or will have) Dragon Quest.
DS will have the next Dragon Quest, so what's the need for this?
PeacefulOutrage @ Feb 1st 2008 5:51PM
It looks like a continuation of the Blue Dragon story. I just finished the game on the 360 and from the images it looks like it takes place after the final events of the console game. Oh well, I don't have a DS, and don't plan on getting one anytime soon. Nothing against the DS, I used to game on my GBA all the time when my car was out of commission. I just don't really use portables anymore since I drive everywhere. I can't play while I'm driving, and when I'm home I can play a console.
Alisha Karabinus @ Feb 1st 2008 6:33PM
Yeah, it's a direct sequel.
Trickob @ Feb 1st 2008 7:18PM
....as is mentioned in the article....
paragraph @ Feb 1st 2008 10:29PM
it's not that you can't, it's that you won't :-P
i play my DS at traffic lights ;)
The DS has (in my opinion) some un-tapped potential, i'm still looking for a decent game that uses the stylus and the mic in creative ways...
Gangsta Smurf @ Feb 1st 2008 7:31PM
in b4 Fernando damage control
Tuxy79 @ Feb 2nd 2008 12:24AM
Good as bought.
Synner @ Feb 2nd 2008 10:05AM
Fuck this game, when is DQ coming out?
B1gC72 - PSN: KillaKornbread @ Feb 2nd 2008 12:27PM
cool. i knew they wouldnt cancel it. as a non-360 owner i was kind of jealous of Blue Dragon since it looked like a pretty cool RPG. im not really fond of the 2D characters in the faux 3D world though, that usually turns me off from handheld RPGs. ill still think about getting this though.
Stranger @ Feb 3rd 2008 12:13PM
At least it's on the right platform now...
Epsilon @ Feb 2nd 2008 10:18PM
Hmm, interesting, though I don't generally care much for most RPGs.
