Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Final Smashes revealed

If there's one thing we learned reading through some of the comments on our mega-spoiler Smash Bros. Brawl post, it's that there are a lot of people who want Mega Man to join in the Smash Bros. series. If there's a second thing we learned, it's that people are very interested in learning the secretive "Final Smash" attacks for each of the revealed characters.Well, we can't help with Mega Man, but thanks to the kindly folks over at GameVideos, we can help with that second problem. The epic eight-minute video below shows off every Final Smash move in sequence. Not all Final Smashes are created equal, though, so we've decided to rank them on a ten point scale based on destructive potential, how well they fit the character and all-around coolness. - Mario: Shoots a screen-filling super fireball. 10/10
- Yoshi: Sprouts wings and spits fireballs. 7/10
- Peach: Drops health restoring apples (which anyone can use) and briefly puts opponent to sleep. 2/10
- Bowser: Turns into gigantic Gigabowser. 7/10
- Donkey Kong: Turns into a cute, bongo-drumming toy that rocks back and forth and attack with acoustic power. 6/10
- Diddy Kong: Sprouts rocket barrels and flies around the screen. 4/10
- Wario: Turns into the purple spandex-sporting Wario-Man. 8/10
- Pikachu: Turns into a frenetic lightning ball of fury. 9/10
- Charizard/Bulbasaur : Team up for a laser-like energy-beam 8/10
- Pit: Calls down a fleet of warrior angels to pummel opponent. 8/10
- Samus: A screen-filling energy shot. 10/10
- Zero-suit Samus: A whip-spinning screw attack. 7/10
- Kirby: Cooks enemy in an explosive pot. 6/10.
- Meta-Knight: A screen-darkening super-slash. 6/10
- King Dedede: Dances to summon menacingly cute Waddle Dees to rain from the sky. 8/10
- Link/Toon Link: A bevy of quick sword slashes with a final push. 10/10
- Zelda/Sheik: Super-strong bow-and-arrow shot. 8/10
- Fox/Falco/Wolf: Summons Landmaster tank with hovering abilities and a powerful cannon. 7/10
- Ice Climbers: Summon giant glacier from ground to chip away at health. 5/10
- Capt. Olimar: Launches a rocket with damaging exhaust and a crash landing attack. 8/10
- Marth: A jumping sword juggle with a punishing, pounding finish. 10/10
- Lucas/ Ness: PK Thunder rain. 4/10
- Luigi: Psychedelic freak-out dance. 5/10
- Capt. Falcon: Calls in the Blue Falcon to crash into the opponent. 9/10
- Snake: Jumps on a helicopter ladder, fires missiles from a shoulder launcher. 10/10
- R.O.B.: Wimpy laser eyes. 1/10
- Sonic: Transforms into Super Sonic, causes havoc. 9/10
- Mr. Game & Watch: Turns into the Octopus from Octopus, attacks with tentacles. 7/10
- Lucario: Mid-air beam attack. 7/10
- Jigglypuff: Grows gigantic, pushes opponent off stage with sheer bulk. 8/10
- Ganondorf: Transforms into Bull Gannon, bum rushes opponent off stage. 9/10
- Ike: Link-like slash attack. 9/10

Was Falco a joke? Fox/Falco/Star Wolf seem to have the same final smash... thats lame.
Zelda and Sheik also ahve the same final smash, while Samus and Zero Suit Samus dont....
Toon Link also has the same final smash as link...
I am dying for this game, but this sadened me a bit...........

Kyle Orland, here are a few mistkaes you made:
Lucario uses Psybeam.
It's Boar Ganon.
Peach's are present during Peach's final smash.
Zelda/Sheik use the light arrow.

Which is funny, because Ness (and Lucas, maybe, I never played Mother 3) didn't get Starstorm, if I recall correctly. It was Poo.

I haven't played Earthbound for a whie but I think your right, Ness never got Starstorm. They should have had his final smash be PSI Rockin'. It's pretty disappointing to see so many of them have the same final smash, hopefully they don't all play the same as well. It's also pretty lame how some of the final smashes are so weak compared to others that are pretty much instant kills.

another mistake is that you accidentally mixed up marth with ike and ike with marth. Marth does the single slice ike does the sword juggle

ballistic3188 - Ike does the single slash and you can tell because the power meter used in Fire Emblem shows up above the opponents percent meter (lower right of the screen). That's a dead giveaway.

Ness never learned PK Fire, PK Thunder, PSI Magnet or PK Starstorm (all shared moves from Paula and Poo). Ness did learn PK Flash and should have had PK Rockin' as a FS.
Lucas never learned PK Fire, PK Thunder, PK Freeze or PSI Magnet (all Kumatora's moves). Lucas should have had PK Love as a FS. Yes, I own Mother 3.
Even though they were drastically changed and Starstorm looks a little sucky, I will continue to main Ness.

Realize that some of these smashes are more single target focused vs. others, so some will seem much more impressive when you're fighting multiple opponents.
For example, Ness/Lucas's Starscream and Meta Knights (believe the "Slash" hits everyone)
Also, Olimar's Final Smash is a play on Pikmin's "take off at the end of the day". All the other players are left behind and eaten by the native aliens.

You have to remember that the game isnt about the Final smashes.Its about using characters you always wanted to use.Every character have their own unique moves that make up for their FS being similar.This game will be the game of the year if not the decade.

Seeing Marth's Final Smash reaffirmed my reason as to why he is the King of Smash. That sword swing was BRUTAL. It's also nice to see Wolf O'Donnell in there. I wonder how much different his moves will be compared to Fox and Falco.

probably about the same with a tweak on speed and power. thats how they've done it in the previous games anyway. he may be slower than Fox but more powerful or something like that. that would be my guess anyway.

I'd raise Diddy Kong's "score". It did look pretty lame on the Dojo, but it looks even lamer in that video because the player didn't fire his popgun at all. It looks way better in motion. IGN has a video of it.

Man, seeing PK Starstorm in action is kind of disappointing. But I have to say, the invocation of the move is totally badass. Though yeah... it should have been PSI Rockin (or as it's most commonly known in Japanese, PK Kiai - that would have been awesome to hear shouted).
Also, the audio seems kind of funky for Lucario's Final Smash. But it sounds like Psywave. This might explain why it seems to suck - that move was terrible in the original games.
