Exactly one year ago, the BBPS gang tried to use Tecmo Bowl to predict the Super Bowl champs. The game simulation picked the Bears (yeah, that was wrong). This year, Madden 08 picked Tom Brady's New England Patriots as the winning time for Super Bowl XLII, but what does Tecmo Bowl say? ArmChairGM ran the simulation. We'll won't spoil the results (that link will), but you can watch the game in the two videos embedded after the break.

I just want to wipe that stupid smirk off of Tom Brady's face. God damn I hate him and New England fans. They're possibly the worst fans in the world.
I'm a huge Packers fan and was torn up when the Giants edged them, but I've got to root for them; they've beat out the NFC's best in the Cowboys and Pack, hopefully they can take it to the league's best, too.

Seriously, they've made it easy to hate on them this year. First off, everyone wants to beat the big dog. Add in Spygate, Belichick's attitude, Brady's pompous air, Moss's trash talk, and the fact that they stayed perfect with the help of some questionable calls (especially in the Baltimore game), and you've got a stew full of justified hate.
If the NFL was rigged, I'm not sure what outcome would be more popular, the perfect season realized or the effort thwarted by a huge underdog.

The summary is fantastic too. I love the 3.5 yards and no more comment.

we just picked up david cutcliffe for the HC job, and he trained peyton and eli. what better resume than two proteges winning superbowls in back-to-back years?
so yeah, eli's got to win it if duke has any hope of rising out acc bottom-dwelling status.

The Patriots didn't cheat. If you call "breaking a rule" cheating, it is. But they were reprimanded. 1.25m is a lot of dough. And our first-round draft pick is gone. So yes, we broke a rule. That everyone else in the league regularly breaks. Remember the controversy before the second Jets game, where the Jets were revealed as having done the same as the Pats, against us last year? No, because Belichick didn't make a big deal about it.
The "running up the score" fiasco? Shoddy media coverage. Brady was a non-factor in the final quarters... remember a guy called Kyle Eckel? Um, he's our third-string RB and he scored multiple TDs. We ran it up the middle, running out the clock. And it led to touchdowns.
And cocky? COCKY? Of all things, COCKY. We've been the most polite team of the entire league. "We're looking toward next week, the *insert team* have some tough areas of play." I seem to remember it was other teams whom were cocky against us. The Steelers, Eagles, and Chargers have been trash-talking before losing.
And the games were "fixed because of bad calls"? Remember the SD-IND game, with the INT TD return that was called back... due to a ghost penalty, leading to mass outrage and the commentators themselves getting angry? Every game has bad calls, and every team benefits from them in some situations.
