Four48 crew takes on the world in Resident Evil 4 race

With three marathon gaming sessions neatly tucked under their belts, the Four48 crew are starting to get a little overzealous. Attempting to beat four Zelda games in forty-eight hours was a lofty enough goal -- but for their latest effort to raise cash for Child's Play, they're attempting to establish global domination by besting seven other teams in a race through Resident Evil 4.
The first team to cross the finish line (via jet ski, if memory serves) nets themselves a copy of No More Heroes, along with bragging rights in the rapidly expanding competitive marathon gaming scene. As always, you can watch their live webstream to see if the Four48ers can back up their boasts -- that is, if you can stand ten straight hours of listening to the death rattles of Spanish pseudo-zombies.

I think the quickest I beat RE4 was in 8 hours or something, even speed running the game it is quite long. You might be able to shave an hour off with any of the infinite ammo instant kill weapons. But still it's quite a large game.

The game can easily be beaten in about 3-4 hours (if you have the Chicago Typewriter, which obliterates everything in a hurry).

I hope someone posts this on YouTube. Probably much more entertaining than watching the three RE flicks.

In the end, all they did is copy Desert Bus for Hope.
But whatever, it's for charity.

Yeah they're kind of wearing out their welcome. Is this gonna be, like, an every week thing for them?

I agree. This really isn't newsworthy anymore. Unless they beat it whilst maintaining one of those abu graib naked butt pyramid formations throughout. That would be something.

There's no such thing as too much blowing up Spanish pseudo-zombies.

Took me 5 hours to beat the game the last time I played, cause I used the Chicago typewriter. xD
I totally want to see this live stream.
Radicoon @ Feb 2nd 2008 8:36PM
I made a run under 3 hours with the Typewriter.

The Zelda marathon was interesting, but this is getting ridiculous. Just stop it! You can't keep doing this over and over! Someone should tell these guys their 15 minutes of internet geek fame is over and that it's getting annoying. Also, these guys are in college. Is this all they have to do on the weekend??

No one is forcing you idiots to watch this. Does it seriously piss you off that these kids play games and people watch them do it? Seems like a pretty trivial thing to actually affect your mood. I'm pretty confident that everyone on the internet has a polarized opinion on everything. Anyway, I enjoy watching people play games, so I'll be tuning in each week. The guys are pretty funny, too.

Once a month or less please.
It'll soon be they'll be forced to play through ET if they keep going and run out of decent games.
