New Call of Duty 4 maps 'on the way'

So anyway, Activision has announced that new downloadable multiplayer maps for its smash-success shooter, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, are "on the way" to the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network. Questions regarding release date, price and quantity went unanswered by the publisher, thus leaving the headline as the only useful sentence in this entire post.

Let's hope IW does the right thing and offers the new maps in the $5 range. Anything more than that is too much, if you ask me. With the enormous install base, this makes it an impulse purchase that lots of people would jump on.

Anybody know exactly what the title update is supposed to address? I know they said it will alter the kill cams some (cams will follow grenades, air strike bombs, etc.), but that's all I heard.
I'm hoping it addresses the knife, as I get a lot of serious inconsistencies when trying to melee sometimes. I also hope it fixes the party system, i.e., actually keep parties together, instead of randomly booting one or more member when there's a network problem.
I'm not the only one who has these problems am I?

They should add a mod to rain INSTANT DEATHHHH on anyone who picks up a sniper rifle. Those snipers..arghhhh!

You've covered just about everything; mostly just some minor fixes regarding network issues and those Killcam changes you touched on, in addition to some fixes for certain weapons' hit detection (if I am correct, I believe that they are specifically targeting ACOG scoped weapons and sniper rifles).

If anything is changed, sniper rifles should only gain half a kill. Am I the only person who thinks COD4's levels give snipers an unfair advantage. (Most)
One more thing... invisible walls on top of buildings. End random granade deaths!

What I'd like to see changed if anything is your player pulling the pin when throwing an opponent's grenade back. The pin has already been pulled, so why do they waste time animating it again? it cuts down on realism and also makes throwing a primed grenade back pretty difficult, (and not in a good way).

I'd happily pay for new maps if they give us good playlists to play them on. Bungie made us pay for new maps for Halo3, then put them on crappy, random playlists with too many players per map that made each game into a mindless killfest that gold old VERY quickly. I understand not everyone buys the maps so you can't have them on a standard playlist, but please, give us some choice! Let us enjoy the maps we buy. kthxbye.

Yeah, what nuke assault said... we do kinda need a couple of maps where its night...like a docks level or...!! u guys know the level in single player, F.N.G ? that could be a multi lvl =] mean sniper shoot outs...although in this particular shooter i am not a fan of sniping...(the trick to Call Of Duty 4 online is to keep on the move...sprint long distances and then slow to a sighted walk when in close quarters...lol sorry about babbling on.. just felt like sharing stuff =P...but yea great news about the new maps cant wait!!

coming 4 New Maps for the 360 and PS3
their names are BROADCAST, CREEK, CHINATOWN, AND KILLHOUSE.
Along with these four maps gamers will also get a retooled playlist. New additions include Variety Pack Team Deathmatch and Variety Pack Team Objective which will be the two playlists to have the new maps and only the new maps available. The rest of the modes will rotate the new maps the same as if they were among the originals.

Yay! New Maps! And The Variety Pack Sounds Good, But Only If The Maps Are Good I Suppose. Hope The Maps Are Good And Dont Cost Too Many MPoints. Any News On Challenges? Pistol And Grenade Challenges Would Be Good. Also New Weapons e.g Cluster Grenades. New Content Coming April!
