Future Publishing buys share of N4G.com

Editorial judgment? Original content? What are those? Everyone who's anyone knows the hot new thing is letting readers vote on what counts as news on sites like Digg, StumbleUpon and N4G, the last of which got a cash infusion from mega-publisher Future U.S., it was announced today.The publishing giant behind all three official U.S. gaming magazines spent an undisclosed sum to obtain an undisclosed minority share of the site. It might be a sound investment -- according to the press release, "N4G received 3.65 million visits in January 2008, with 17.8 million page views and nearly a million unique visitors." Not bad for a site that makes its readers do all the work.

and u r the most idiotic, ignorant, useless, meaningless, moronic, did i miss any poster in the history of the internet.
Most of the stories on N4G are posted DAYS b4 sites like your beloved Joystiq. And most of the stories are clickouts to sites like Kotaku, IGN, PSU, 1up...and so on.
So Fernandos where o where does that leave Joystiq? If they post the SAME stories that N4G posts DAYS b4...again i say Fernandos...where does that leave Joystiq?

I meant the commentors Ken... they are idiotics... at least Joystiq makes the news funny, with excellent writers, and Joystiq make reviews and original content.
And like you said, n4g are just clickouts, nothing original.

I agree with you for once.
The comments are often brain-dead stupid, and some of the descriptions/editing done by the "Contributors" are pretty horrible, but I like how quickly news pops up on there.

n4g may have idiotic random commentors since anybody can submit, but like mentioned, its a clickthrough site, so all you need to do is not read anything but the title, click the link and read the actual article, something most people ahrdly ever do at joystiq.
N4g is good because not only does it get news alot quicker then joystiq, but it also gets ALOT more news. Browsing n4g I find out when new starcraft 2 information is released, stuff joystiq just does not report on. And its like this for other games as well. I still goto joystiq but on slow days and weeks (like this week and today) on joystiq when their biggest story is red fraction 3 announcment, I head over to n4g and find out lots of information that goes undocumented here

Along with Gametrailers that site is the most turd pile infested with flying Sony fanboys.
Here is an example:
News source: "Nintendo's Wii is selling more consoles in Japan."
PS3 fanboys from N4G : "BUT-BUTT THE PSTRIPLE WILL EVENTUALLY TAKE OVER!!!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOL...."

I doubt that, I'm not the type of guy who post's biased opinions. I don't actually try to be troll like you, I don't immediately try to post to be first and then say something that will start a "war". I believe most people here want to have an educated/unbiased conversation, but you and some others come along and ruin that.

N4G is the car doing 100 down the motorway. It picks up all the bugs and shit on the windscreen along the way but it's the fastest news source out there.
Sure a lot of it is untreated effluent but I visit it more often than Joystiq to be honest for up to date news.

I do not CARE about the Wii. The Wii is not in my opinion even PART of this latest generation of consoles with NEW not 10year old CPU's and GPU's that have more memory and run faster.
All fads last about 2 years. This FAD will be no different. Just my opinion of course but I will say I told you so when it happens.
Just the other day I overheard some soccermom say to another soccer mom that she has had her Wii for over a year and that the only game they play is Wii Sports and she wished that there were more games like Wii sports. She was bragging about something she did in the game so I am assuming that she still plays it somewhat. But really, when the soccermoms get bored with Wii Sports what then Fernandos what then?

i like N4G.com cause it gives THE fastest game news updates ive come across. i do, however, hate the run around to get to source articles though. i dont waste my time commenting on stuff over there either, just read the headlines basically. i do wish they had a mobile version though so i could view it faster on my smartphone cause the full page loads so slow and awkwardly even on my EV-DO connection. Joystiq's mobile site is top notch though.
