i got one of these for xmas. kinda nifty. although it doesn't get much use, when i do need to send text messages or input xbl or ms point codes it's great and i dont have to bother hooking in a USB keyboard. also the controller is still very comfortable to hold. but $20+ for an open item? no thanks. who knows who's head that headset was on.

yeah... I guess for inputing codes it would be nice... just doesn't make much sense for messaging when you can just record your voice just as easy and quicker with the headset and mic.

Ya know what? I agree. I know that makes no sense. It would still work exactly the same. But I'd be more likely to get one if I could get it to match my black controller.

I often wonder the wisdom of posting this sort of obviously limited offer. If it's a big E-tailer like Amazon or Buy.com, that is one thing. But smaller sites like "Stootsi" generally run out within minutes and then you get just get pissed off readers who can't take advantage.

Don't worry. You're not missing much. I got an open box controller from stootsi and the damn thing doesn't even work and is covered in someone else's dead skin cells. It's really disgusting.

I have never laughed as hard as reading some of the comments about the 2nd hand controllers sold at 1/2 price a few weeks ago.

The comment about not wanting to put it up your ~@#/? while playing Rez was the best. You should have a read of it, I think it was X3F, but it may have been on Joystiq.

Heck, I bought my chatpad kit 2 weeks ago brand new off amazon for $19.99 shipped. Guess that just proves that amazon > all.

I have one and it kind of sucks. It weighs a ton and the keypad layout is just a bit off (maybe I am to used to my Blackberry though) I just end up pulling out a keyboard whenever I gotta do any typing.
