Alright, we dare you to watch the Faith and a .45teaser above and not at least be intrigued. Seriously. A period game set during the Great Depression? Tommy guns? Compelling characters? Bi-planes? Where do we sign up? Let's not forget that the game sports one of the best titles in recent memory. Of course, the question you must be asking is just how well all of this plays. Of that it's hard to be certain. 1UP certainly seemed to be impressed with some of the co-op maneuvers that could be pulled off between the two main characters. They also lament, however, that it's always possible there will be significant changes once developers Deadline Games find a publisher. With the gaming world already full of square-jawed, macho shooters, here's hoping Faith and a .45 comes out unscathed.

Fail to see how a Gears of War Clone with a fresh coat of paint and a couple of new co-op gimmicks deserves as much attention as this game's been getting.
Don't get me wrong, I like seeing a new developer trying to do something innovative. This just isn't innovative. It's an amalgamation of very tired videogame and movie cliches pretending it's something it isn't.
Hell, the title is a lift off of a bad reinterpretation of Bonnie & Clyde (same source material) called Love & a .45.
I just completely fail to see how stealing a movie concept, changing one word of the title, and ripping off your gameplay from Gears (with added exploding barrels!!!) is in any way original. Top it off with the title's first gameplay video featuring almost nothing but exploding barrels and a giggle inducing North by Northwest reference, and I'm about as skeptical as it gets.
The guy in the promo image has a scar on his chin that's identical to Harrison Ford's for cryin' out loud!
Taking cool things that have been done before (and done better) and rolling them all into a Gears of War clone isn't being original, and shouldn't be credited as such simply because it's set in the 1930s.
This game would only seem original to someone who hasn't been exposed to any American pop culture pre-1985 and if that sounds like a description of whomever is reading this you'd better be 12, or at least really ashamed of yourself.
Seriously... how derivative can one game get??? Hope it turns out good and I wish the dev's success, but I'm just not holding my breath... sorry.
All I'm saying is you can't credit a game for originality when all we've seen is a PR blast that indicates noting but derivation.
"The Great Depression" is about as accurate a description of the game's supposed setting as saying that Halo is an accurate depiction of the future.
If it was actually set in that period things would look very, very different... particularly Faith's hair color, costume design, and the prevalence of exploding barrels and chin scars (read: tired videogame & movie cliches).
I think were giving a gimmicky setting with a movie story-and-title ripoff a little too much credit when calling it original. Especially when no one's played the friggin' thing. All were seeing is marketing materials here... and those marketing materials are about as derivative as you can get.
Like I said: I hope this one turns out. I really do. I just wouldn't hang my hat on this being anything other than a mediocre Gears clone in different clothing.
I'm certainly not hanging my hat on it yet either, but I can't help but be excited by it, if for not other reason than the love interest between the two main characters. Not something you see in your average shooter.
Could be fun, but the look and physics just did not seem like it was next gen. Needs more polish. Now this may be that I am currently on on my Halo3, COD4 high I suppose but you should really look at those 2 titles before you release a new FPS game. They tend to spoil you for other games. After them we expect, WE DEMAND MORE!
